When stuff like this happened to my friend and I last game, it was hilarious. He kicked me back into an elimination chamber the instant I was released and I got stuck and it was the best.
 
I was gonna buy this but the graphics are just eh...IK graphics don't make the game but yeah..I knew the graphics would only go downhill from last year.
 
People buy this garbage year in and out... I just don't get it. I buy 1-2max per gen.

I bought WWE 2K14, has 100 CAW slots so I have an updated roster and everyone I liked watching growing up. Yukes rendering is so bad there are CAWs that look better than their work. I'm not going to buy another one until they change developers.
 
It's a shame given some of the effort they've clearly put into some things (tons of moves, and the fucking WCW Hardcore Title is in there!), that the core gameplay is so irredeemably bad, and other things just look like they spent 5 minutes on it. Balor's entrance is super robotic.

They are, but considering you can recreate some glitches from WWE 12 around the physics, who knows what famous glitches will be returning!

They've never fixed shit from WWE 12, which was when they first introduced the new physics system, so count on 16 being just as hilarious.
 
Universe Mode Enhancements

We’ve had a lot of fun making WWE 2K16 and calling out all of the great new features in posts and videos. The time has finally come to talk about the updates to Universe Mode – where fans get to craft and play out their own version of WWE. For the uninitiated, it’s like taking the role of Corporate Kane, Director of Operations. We know many of you are excited to hear all about it so let’s not delay any further!

Right out of the gate, keen players will notice that the match generation system has been overhauled. In the past, starting match cards were similar across all game copies. Now players shouldn’t see the same card when comparing Universes with their friends. From there, players can now assign Superstars to appear on multiple shows, creating more flexibility and customization.

We’ve added more Universe cutscenes and revamped a large portion of the storylines to focus more on quality over quantity. Between pay-per-views one would traditionally see around two possible story instances for a character’s path. Now those branching-instance possibilities jump up to ten, creating far more variety in storylines. Everything will make more sense logically with the Superstars involved based on their personality traits.



This new personality system gauges a variety of stats to influence Superstar traits and actions in Universe mode. Meters display opposing traits like loyal vs. treacherous, respectful vs. disrespectful, and discipline vs. aggression. By default, these sliders are tuned to align with Superstars’ traits shown on WWE programming. Brock Lesnar, for example, will be highly aggressive while The Miz will be cowardly and egotistical. By playing these characters against their base traits, one can gradually steer them to behave differently, but there’s also the option to go into the menus and adjust their traits manually.

Status effects are another new element shaking up the flow of Universe Mode. Status effects are temporary bonuses and penalties that are triggered through gameplay or storylines. The most common effects temporarily boost a Superstar’s attributes, which are triggered by winning streaks and winning big pay-per-view matches in rivalries. Some others affect how much a personality trait can be changed through gameplay, giving you the chance to solidify a trait or push it towards the opposite end. We’ve also brought back injuries as status effects with big changes. Injuries are inflicted when you deal a huge amount of damage to a specific part of the body, and the level of the injury climbs from minor to major to critical. Superstars can continue to compete with minor and major injuries with penalties to limb health and attributes related to that limb. Once an injury reaches a critical level, the Superstar will be knocked out of commission until their injury heals up.



Finally, it is now much easier to track changes in rivalries. Whenever a rivalry match finishes, a new results screen offers immediate feedback on how it affects everything. Previously, players would have to dig through menus to gather this information and this cuts that down significantly. Keeping tabs on developments and progression has never been easier.

We hope you enjoyed this rundown of new features in Universe Mode in WWE 2K16. We can’t wait for players to get their hands on it and the rest of the game on October 27th in North America, the 29th in Australia, and the 30th in Europe!

Godammit. Might be back to a cheap purchase. Someone keeps saying my birthday gift is late though, so I might just have it soon. They need to start releasing these away from October so people stop getting those ideas.

Will watch New Legacies Universe mode to see first if not. I still just assume Submission matches will show up for no reason.
 
How do they manage to make a game worse than its PS2 counterparts?

HCTP days are like the Attitude Era with their current games reflecting today's product.

Is there website that lists each WWE superstar and what games they appear in?

For example, is Goldberg only in 2K14? How about like Bret Hart? Looking for a website that compiles each game's roster.
 
OK it has to be asked. Who was put in charge of the series in regards to the graphics? 2K puts effort in on the NBA series but why not WWE? I miss the years when they strived to improve the look of the wrestlers every year then suddenly one year it just stopped and got worse.

I still enjoy the games but man are the character models terrible for today's standards.
2K is not handling development, they give Yukes access to their scanning tech and this is the result of their top tier efforts.

NBA 2K looks really good because there is a capable team using the tools. Yukes is still trying to wrap their heads around game physics after 4 years, let alone trying to use this scan tech well.
 

Just look at this shit. I cannot understand how animations is so great and fluid in every other sports game (and yes WWE is not real sports bla bla) yet here it looks as bad as it did on the Playstation ONE.

Why is the wrestler getting beaten up by the ropes? I know Seth Rollins is the worst champion since lil Rey Rey, but even he could handle the ropes. Why the awkward non transition between Seth getting up after that devastating rope maneuver and Reigns pinning him?

Forget Call of Duty, Assasins Creed and whatever else. This Smackdown/Smackdown vs RAW/ WWE ____ is the longest running same old shit franchise. It is older than probably many people browsing this site.

Ladder and TLC are separate again in all modes other than 6 man having no TLC. Handicap back too. Trying to find a shot of the match options screen.

EDIT: Seen someone saying it's just arena and match pacing options and not match creator. Bollocks. Can add themes to the menu music again now though at least.

Kinda looks like all managers go with a Diva manager celebration animation.

Paul Heyman will be...interesting.

I think the manager animation depends on the winning characters animation.
 
They really really need to go back to the classics , i would love a remake/re-release of here comes the pain that game was awesome , just the season mode was short
