WWE 2K16 - First Gameplay Details (IGN)

Sorry, but what's the issue with the Austin's entrance? Looks fine to me. What are you expecting to see different?

Was expecting the animation to actually resemble Austin's movements? It looks like what it is, some indie wrestler or whatever trying and failing to replicate it.

Yukes has been getting away with this garbage for years and years...I guess nothing can be done,eh? if i was to ever go into a wave of fan movement it'd be for this wrestling genre since i do love it so much but refuse to get back into it with yukes..and that has been multiple years already so i guess i shall be waiting longer.

Well, that looks like the days of Stunning Steve Austin from WCW.

I don't know, guess I am excited to play the 2K Showcase and I have always really enjoyed wrestling games. I guess over the years, the animations tend to look the same, but I am not sure how different they can look. I mean, if that is their pose, that's their pose. Not sure how different it can look.

Yuke's handles neither motion capture nor character modeling. I have to point this out in every WWE video game topic, but the misconception persists.

Perhaps you need to enable the blood option to see it?

*Crosses fingers
Blood is definitely still in the game, so you probably just have to bust Austin open yourself. I don't know why triggering the Sharpshooter cutscene would magically make him bleed.

These threads are so depressing. People are so negative, and rightfully so, yet I still manage to have fun with the games every year. Hopefully I don't get labeled a Yukes employee for saying so. :P

The state of wrestling as a whole is fairly depressing to be honest.

I never knew that, it's just my disappointment has been so immense I didn't look into it that deep for awhile. I wouldn't mind a good wrestling tycoon games with pixel graphics, managing shows, simulating matches, stealing talent, talent switching to other companies...on and on...a real good wrestling simulator is all i need for myself. (and no not that one thats currently out one with great visuals and you can actually see AI vs AI matches ;p)

I'm aware of that.

Also, the point is that the pose doesn't even resemble the pose as done by the wrestler in real life.

So long as you continue to gladly give your money away to WWE, 2K, and Yuke's they have no incentive to improve. They believe you love everything because you continue to pay them money for it.

Yep, unfortunately it's true. Some people just love these games though. This thing sells every year and it's a cash cow for WWE. A different developer will never get a chance at making a WWE game again.

Wow was looking forward to this as last years was a shit show but you guys are killing my hype! I should of known same old Yukes. Fuck

I watched a couple matches of that stream last night and the CMPuls3 videos. The game looks fine. It looks better than last year. I have played every single game in the series (plus every other wrestling game) and it looks fun. My biggest complaint last year was reversals and submissions being broken and the lack of some match types. It's looks like the fixed a lot of the kinks and added in MOST of the matches and create stuff that people wanted. Some of my best memories in gaming last year came from playing 2K15 with my best friend. Was it perfect? Hell no. Was it fun? Yes. I do agree that the engine needs to change eventually but it's not the worst. Could they do better? Of course they could. But a lot of that stuff is out of their hands when the big boys upstairs and WWE themselves put them on a pretty hardcore deadline. I will say they have done a tremendous job this year of listening to the fans and trying to get everything they could in there. The series still has a long way to go to reach NBA 2K16 levels of detail but it's still my favorite game to play with friends all year round.

Now if only they would put the Co-op season mode from Smackdown 2 back in I would be ecstatic.
