Even if you wash your teeth and put on some mouthwash, because or the chemical composition and the bacteria in our mouth saliva still has a unique smell I'm not fond of.
I honestly don't know why people ignore it. Just think that you're exchanging saliva when you're kissing your significant other. That in my opinion is disgusting in its own way.

I don't like his fixation on Burb, it feels weird to me. He's changed his vote now and he claims that he simply had a gut feeling about Burb being a threat, but it still feels off personally.
Other topics:
I have no clue what's going on with squidy, as his entire claim situation feels really weird to me. I think his interpretation of Kawl is worth considering however. Nothing about Kawl screams SCUMSCUMSCUM to me, but I can sort of see what squidy is getting at.

If it's mandatory, than he was going to be forced to claim at some point, though I wish he had kept the Hulk Hogan part hidden as a potential foil to scum claims, or as potential confirmation for a role cop. He'll be a scum target for sure, though overall it depends on how well he uses his double vote. Much like Burbeting, the longer he survives the more suspicious it becomes.

I no longer think Burb would be the best target for this, but it would be nice to know if it's an option.

Nothing he's said so far makes me lean either way. I see what squidy is saying, but he's reaching like crazy (which is natural), I'm unconvinced.
I don't understand the part where squidy doesn't want to check Kawl. I think Kawl is a very capable scum player and if squid really suspects him he'd be a great candidate for a check.

2) I admit it was in the heat of the moment and I'm disappointed in myself. I apologize.

batsnacks: Leaning town on this and the claim seems legit, nin has done a vote count after his double without mentioning rules. The good thing is that he should be killed sooner rather than later, so like Palmer I see no problem with letting him live, if he starts living quite long then we need to revisit.

I used my power first, I was the vote frontrunner in Election for most of D1, but it eventually got to nin and as soon as he was majority I used it, got the result and claimed after the fact. Note that with my role in Election, I was able to check myself as vote leader. It was obviously a waste of a power so I didn't want that to happen.
I'd really like Bear to check in, there's more than enough material to comment on.

squidyj; Reasons I can believe this role claim:
- I used this ability in Election to clear nin himself, so I can see it being in his own game
- Until I see credible evidence otherwise, I'm going to assume The Authority are the scum team and Shane McMahon has always been the black swan in the storylines so he being town aligned is believable
- I was under the impression squidy doesnt follow wrasslin, and Shane wouldn't be my first goto claim as a casual/non-fan.
Reasons I struggle with this claim:
- He claimed before he used it, then said he didn't plan on using it today. Considering scum would want to eliminate this ability because it could find one of them or confirm a townie, it's a poor decision.
- The 'It's as real as Wrestling' line. We all know wrasslin ain't real.

I mean I was told I was a cop, nowhere is it indicated that I would pierce burbeting's miller aura so I am fairly certain that i would be 'right on the money' if I checked burb.
As for reasons. I went to an Ivy League school, I'm very highly educated. I know reasons, I have the best reasons.

Wasn't hoping for much on the reasons question, but I need an answer to this one.
A case could be made here as well, yes. I thought CM Punk was the Miller because of the way he left the company, burning bridges left and right. A lot of fans really don't like him because of the way he handled it.

I was a town one-shot lightning rod, but I lied a lot. I told everyone I was the cop when I had reason to believe it was darryl. then I told them I had additional charges, then I told them my power was special if I went on the mission at night.
You wouldn't want to know this is you are town. You asked the same thing about me: "surely you have some kind of protection of you are town?" Or something to that effect.

As for you, I am still unsure why you're mechanically different from other games, and its a mechanic that is public, which puts you at much higher risk as town. I think there should be something to help you with that.

Well you've heard it hear folks. Let's go ahead and wrap up day 1 we've got scum. Squidyj is just so much god damn smarter and better at this game than the rest of us.
I really should have known having the audacity to have posts on the lighter side of serious on day 1 would be my down fall. Woe is me.
As far as Cabot asking questions, the protection thing is suspicious, but the command verifying makes sense from a town perspective. He's trying to unravel the pack of probable lies from squid. I dislike the way he is going about it from a meta perspective but what are you going to do.
The point is if there is something to help me then you shouldn't want to know, cause then mafia would know. The same for squid.
What is the mafia agenda in getting protective roles to claim? More informed night actions that will do more damage to town.

Asking people to claim (specifically) any protective abilities they may/may not have is a weird way get a stronger conclusion on their alignment.
My thinking is to do with the publicity of your ability. You couldn't hide it. You couldn't just vote normally and then double when you felt it was absolutely necessary. I've not seen that before, and I think it's unbalanced. Woof 2 had the sheriff, but it was a confirmed town role which I felt brought adequate balance.
I see where you're coming from, but this is the equivalent to asking someone for a role claim. Bats' claimed role is slightly unusual, but it doesn't make me so suspicious that I need him to full claim.
The sheriff wasn't exactly confirmed town. We had a mafia sheriff for half of woof 2.
But it was originally and had the mechanics fully explained and town understood the ramifications of it.
The original sheriff was confirmed town. The deputies were passed on from him.
I thought it was if the sheriff died the deputy became the new sheriff and crimson was the sheriff for a long time and was mafia.
Yeah that's how it works, that doesn't contradict what I said. The first sheriff was Drop, and his role PM was made public before the game started. He then deputised Crimson. He was killed N1 and the double ability was passed to scum Crimson, but he didn't become the sheriff role.
Some early D1 thoughts:
Don't like Seath so far, but frustratingly this seems pretty much normal for Seath, from when I've played with them before. I'd consider them a lynch so far. Palmers always a tough read and he's been very pragmatic this phase, which doesn't really lean anything to me. It's just something noteworthy. Need to wait and see what else he says.
I'm not sure on Squidy's claim, but so far I'm not getting scum from him. It's either a gambit of some form (I thought maybe he was trying to bait people into controlling where we should vote) or it could be true and he's went about his role in a very strange way. Salva, Kalor, CornBro and Scrafty are pretty much null reads currently, they're all playing as I expect at this stage.
RNH is okay but I didn't like having to ask why he was between Seath and Palmer, he quickly offered up a reason though so it's not major. nukedeggs showed a little apprehension at discussing Burb, which was odd but could also be newbie jitters. Kawl is playing differently from what I remember but I don't see anything good or bad about it yet. I'm not sure about Retro, he seems to be playing mentor at some points, then amused spectator in others. I've not really seen anything of a real opinion from him.
