WWE's Biggest Event of the Summer returns to the East Coast as SummerSlam gets set to take over Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., this Sunday, Aug. 21, at a special start time of 5 ET/2 PT.
Watch on the WWE Network. First month FREE.
Brock Lesnar vs. Randy Orton
It’s official: Brock Lesnar will face Randy Orton at SummerSlam, the first time the two Superstars have competed against each other in 14 years.
Brock getting popped for PEDs during his UFC run (and thereby exposing the joke that is WWE's wellness policy) has made this a slightly more interesting match because now he might lose? Maybe? Probably not... But maybe? At the very least, we're guaranteed a F-5 reversed into a RKO #OutOfAnywhere.
Finn Bálor vs. Seth Rollins to crown the first WWE Universal Champion
Raw’s first WWE Universal Champion will be determined at SummerSlam when WWE newcomer Finn Bálor takes on Seth Rollins in a historic showdown.
It's a new title, y'all. That's basically all this feud has got. If you're looking for the REAL Championship then...
WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose vs. Dolph Ziggler
WWE World Champion Dean Ambrose defends the title against two-time World Heavyweight Champion Dolph Ziggler at SummerSlam.
"Dean Ambrose and Dolph Ziggler?" you say as you throw your head back and laugh, but what you don't realize is this is the best built feud on the show. You'd probably even laugh harder as I tell you Bray Wyatt has been getting involved in the past weeks and it's actually been GOOD.
John Cena vs. AJ Styles
Who will leave The Biggest Event of the Summer as the franchise of SmackDown Live: John Cena or AJ Styles?
It's probably fair to say that their Money in the Bank match didn't quite reach the heights that were hoped for, so despite a pretty cold feud, both men should be coming in to put on the classic we know they can have. Look for this to be Match of the Night, if not a Match of the Year contender.
U.S. Champion Rusev vs. Roman Reigns
Roman Reigns will challenge Rusev for the United States Championship at SummerSlam. Can the former WWE World Champion thwart The Super Athlete’s reign of terror?
So, Roman Reigns lost clean to Seth Rollins at Money in the Bank. Got suspended for a month for violating WWE's aforementioned joke of a wellness policy. Returns and loses clean two more matches and... is gifted a shot at the US title because... I don't know. He just came out to stare at Rusev a couple times? Then he came out to harass Rusev and Lana for celebrating their love. Fuck this guy is what I'm saying.
WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks vs. Charlotte (Dana Brooke is barred from ringside)
The game-changing rivalry between WWE Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Charlotte continues with a title rematch at The Biggest Event of the Summer.
Dana Brooke had to be barred from ringside because she was too interesting for this match. Sad!
WWE Tag Team Champions The New Day vs. Gallows & Anderson
In order to get their hands on Luke Gallows & Karl Anderson, Kofi Kingston & Xavier Woods have agreed to defend the WWE Tag Team Championship against Big E’s assailants at SummerSlam.
New Day have held the Tag Titles longer than anyone, and The Club are probably their first real threat. Don't be surprised if the sun may set on New Day's reign here.
Enzo Amore & Big Cass vs. Chris Jericho & Kevin Owens
Mere miles away from their old stomping grounds, Enzo Amore & Big Cass take on the newly formed Jeri-KO at SummerSlam in Brooklyn.
This feud started when Jericho came out to defend Charlotte from Sasha on the mic, then Enzo came out to sexually harass Sasha. Then KO got involved somehow, and Big Cass started making gay jokes about him and Jericho. You decide who to root for.
Intercontinental Champion The Miz vs. Apollo Crews
With a win in a New Era Triple Threat Match, Apollo Crews has punched his ticket for SummerSlam, where he will challenge Intercontinental Champion The Miz.
Unlike Roman Reigns, Apollo Crews actually earned his title shot, but like Roman, he's going up against one of the best in the biz.
