Given how you all have so brazenly defied Y2Kev, I'm not really sure there should even be a royal rumble thread.

Both this thread and the Royal Rumble thread were created prior to the WrassleGAF thread closure, a closure that did not specify there could be no wrestling discussion on the forum, period. Prior to the last page or so, this thread has remained basically on track with the drama re: the NJPW acquisitions. There are many wrestling fans on NeoGAF who don't post in WrassleGAF, for one reason or another, as the large post counts of all the OT threads demonstrate, and totally denying them any outlet at all to discuss new wrestling news because of a few dummies shitting up a community thread is not really necessary, especially when the people who actually committed the wrongs in question are currently banned, anyway.

AND THAT'S THE BOTTOM LINE, COS SNOW MAN SAID SO

Given how you do nothing but troll, make fun of dead wrestlers and make grossly inaccurate statements about wrestling I'm glad you're in no position to say which threads should or shouldn't exist. In fact I'm pretty sure Kev already stated they'd be a rumble thread after the bannings.

You could say the same about closing the thread. It didn't make any sense when all the offending people got banned.

No, the point of closing the thread is to send a message that the level of tolerance for the kind of dumb nonsense that got all those people banned is going to be much less than it used to be. That I get, and it's totally fair. But denying people the opportunity to post wrestling memes, Tweets, dirtsheet news, etc., and to just shoot the shit, which is what happens by closing a community thread, does not necessarily have to entail curtailing ongoing discussions in the OT that predate the community thread closure and have done a decently respectable job of staying on-topic prior to the last page or so (the content of which probably warrants this thread being closed, fwiw).

There had been previous warnings by Y2Kev.

The WrestleGAF thread is not one person. It's different people. It's not like the community can get together and kick bad people out. The community as a whole has no control.

The people that didn't listen to the warnings, they got banned. The people that did listen lost a thread.

Dude, publicly discussing something the mods already made a decision on is a BAD idea when we're already on probation. Send a PM to the mods if you have a problem, otherwise don't post about it.

I dont understand. Is posting those HHH memes bannable in this thread? The last thread was closed for certain links being posted right?

I always get confused with some posts on WrassleGAF. I stick around for Raw and PPVs, but don't know what goes on and what people talk about after that. I'm a bit confused as to why/how some repeat offenders get banned (since I dont hang around in the thread except for Raw)

What did Y2K specifically warn the thread about anyway? I must have missed it.

Turning this thread into an all-purpose wrestling discussion thread certainly violates the spirit of the community thread being closed. The bannings happened because people in the thread were openly begging for links to a porn, but the fact that people felt so brazen to do that in the first place was a sign that the community didn't really "get" the previous warnings about keeping itself in check.
