I don't know why someone hasn't figured out how to have people stream audio from home and mix it all to create a regular audience sound. There might be issues with people yelling obscenities but I am sure that is an issue with a live audience that they have already solved. Could even green screen in a 'virtual' audience.

Those are really fascinating ideas I'd like to see tried, or at least tested. It certainly beats two people, a few feet from each other, speaking through microphones, lol.
