Hmm, that was a good episode, and the top 36 picks were good for the most part.
Groups are as unimpressive as always, I can see them being worse thanks to the Frankenstein'd groups, as those are usually assured to make it through. So the open spots for the existing groups are probably down to two.
Speaking of groups, I wish Nicole had taken that category. I mean let's face it, mentoring the groups was her only chance relevancy. The over 30s on the other hand need someone who has a mature career and, well, personality. Simone would've been perfect for that.
I have a feeling she's going to pick someone irrelevant, like the guy who called his baby girl at the end of the episode. Did he even get any time on camera? (producers spared us because he probably won't make it, though). Or that Tiger guy, he's a sweet, but unless the show has a major Bear viewership giving him a slot is going to be a waste.
Either way, everyone should get ready for another Gamu-gate next week, Sponsored by Nicole "When I grow up" Sherzinger. I can feel it.

On the east coast, it was cancelled because there was baseball game before X-Factor (ALCS Championship game). It ran late due to a rain delay.
I have no idea what is/was being shown on the west coast. The latest ep is the contestants performing at the judges house, so anything other than that is a repeat.
EDIT: I HEAR (trying to verify) that Canada has shown the new episode. Hoping I'm not misreading anything.

They probably held it back because of baseball even though it didn't affect the West Coast just so it didn't air partially in the US.

A few thoughts on the latest episode:
-I'm in love with the rugby chick. She plays rugby and she sang "Will you still love me tomorrow" very nicely
-the hot black chick, simone, fucking sucked ass. Simon gave her ridiculous praise though cause he clearly wants to tap that, I don't blame him but come on man. If she makes it to final 4 girls that's dumb
- the older black lady in the over 30s with the good voice butchered Purple Rain. She was just playing vocal gymnastics the whole time, Her audition was nice but boo-urns since then
-the other black lady in over 30s (she was a wedding singer) was awesome. Her song started out as something from the Miami Vice soundtrack with Moby, it was pretty etherreal fo sho
-little rapper kid shouldn't go through to the next round. His 'talents' are all over the internet and personally I've seen better youtube rappers, get somebody more talented if they want a hip hop contestant. If he's any good we'll see him releasing albums with hype, x-factor isn't the forum for him and he...aint that good really.
- justin beiber girl was boring, where's Rachel Crow? Tomorrow's episode huh.
- Frank Sinatra dude was awesome, Rihanna and LA don't think he's commercial enough though....guess they haven't heard of Michael Buble

The show's done a really good job of focusing on the contestants. Every year on Idol, there are more than a few total unknowns even at the semi-final live show stage.
* I think I "enjoyed" it because it reminded me of Kristy Lee Cook's legendary "Eight Days a Week" performance
