it was also in the Metro newspaper too. big article focused on the revolution, gave a small part to XB360 and PS3 said Rev will be the next gen wildcard
Nice that PS3 is also including the same technology. What is that exactly - blood processing?
And these games "that are already damaging our children psychologically" - nice generalisation with no basis in fact, are already sold as 18 certificate, making it a criminal offence to sell them to under 18s. Same as movies.
I see they also regurgitate that rubbish about Manhunt and completely fail to mention that it was the victim who had the game, not the perp.
Most parents are probably not going to know enough about consoles to be able to activate the parental control features anyway, and in my opinion the burden should be on the game stores to actually bother to enforce the law, which says they're not allowed to sell any game rated 18 by the BBFC to anyone younger than 18.
What's wrong with the orignal XBOX and it's parental control? I think it did it's job, maybe alot of parents weren't aware of it and didn't use it much...i think 90% of all consumers ignore intruction books and just dive into a product (me included), and it doesn't help that the option for it was burried in other menus, if it was on the front page of the control center it would have made parents aware.
I am bit confused considering Xbox already has a parental control feature, as far as i can tell PS2 doesnt but im sure PS3 will. As always i dont see why game companies are getting blamed when its parents (and to a lesser extent retailers) who have the power to stop children playing violent games, the emphasis should be on that, not stopping people making them.
This article space could have been better spent showing people how to put a parental lock their xbox.
