Shamelessly stolen from OA.

It looks nice.

I just can't get in my head how MS can design such a dumb looking console accompanied by such an awesome controller.

Come on, the console doesn't look that bad. I actually liket he look of it, controller is the greatest thing ever though.

The xbox 360 design isnt that awful once you look at the PS3 hehe but yeah, it's average. The revolution is definetely the sexiest out of the three, though.

I didnt know were else to post this ,and I can't make a thread myself , but i had a good idea they should have done for the xbox 360

Every person that get one will make a gameing card, correct, i saw that today in the new EGM. So why have it save on the controler besides the hardrive. Think about it.

You go to your friends house to play madden, but you want to keep your scores so instead of having to type it in it would be with your controller. Cuz they say you have to hit that button on the system for your controller to work.

put a small memory chip that would just save your gamername and some stats and download them to your hd when you get home. Then there would be no need for memory cards!

I really hope that a color beside white will be the standard. Maybe it's just the anal retentiveness or something but after a few days of sweaty palms, unwashed hands, and gaming and eating at the same time (as is suggested by the pic perhaps). That controller is going to be looking pretty scummy, not that the dark colored controllers this gen don't gather their share of sweat and skin deposits but at least it's not abruptly clear the sort of nastiness your controller has gathered upon it.

I pray that you didnt spend a great deal of time thinking about that.

That thing is way too Dreamcast looking - man.

The 360 controller really isn't that great imo. it's basically a white, wireless current-gen-xbox controller S (which I really like). But still, no innovation.

the controller is more filled out and fixes issues with the previous controller.

Basically is one of or possibly the best controller ever made.

Right.

See the button in the middle? You can turn the system on and off with it. It also pulls up the Media Center and Live interface any time you hit it - during games, movies, music, etc. Instant interface to user profile, friends list and everything else. I'd call that pretty innovative.

uh... that really isn't an innovative controller. it's just a button that activates innovative services, the controller itself is nothing special.

"I'd call that pretty innovative."

On the web, Microsoft is not allowed to be innovative. No matter how much it appears that they are introducing something new, they are not. Didn't you look over the readme.txt your ISP sent you?

Screw the innovation, the thing is a joy to hold and is possibly one of the best controllers i've used.

lol

It's a feature. Built into the controller. For the first time ever. But it doesn't count......

I think the controller is model of elegance and design. If it is half as comfortable as it looks and people say it is, then it very well may replace the Sega six-button as my favorite controller ever.

Don't need to innovate, when you simply perfect. (I still thing it's innovative. :) )

I'll tell you one thing, the best thing that MS has going for it is that controller. It's just so awesome, like a controller of my dreams. I love it.

I'm trying to find excuses to not buy this thing at launch (money will be tight), but I know one touch of that controller and I'll be dropping $300. :(

Innovation through acquisition is the Microsoft Way!

Well then WTF is the competition doing? Sony brought us 4 shoulder buttons, but MS perfected them. Nintendo brought up analogue sticks, but MS perfected them. Sony brought the dual analogue sticks, but MS put em in the right place. If MS is just straight up copying, then they would have a shit controller just like Nintendo's and Sony's, instead they took what worked and polished them to a sheen. Sony after a decade still can't do that, look at the DS3, that's Sony's attempt at trying to update their controller.

They had a great controller already and now with the black and white buttons becoming shoulder buttons this thing is perfect. Not only that but the color looks pretty sweet and is totally growing on me as well, did I mention how sweet it will be to power down my Xbox by using the controller? Yeah, that's pretty f'n sweet!

On top of that they supposedly thinned out the handles (making it more comfortable). Man, I can't wait to try that controller.

I think I better get a pre-order for this thing, I agree with both you and Duce. If the design of the controller is great already why not just tweak it to perfect it and stick with it? Innovation? I don't want a completely different controller when we already have something about as close to perfect as it gets.

Exactly, one of the best things about the XBox was the Type-S which was great (minus some quibbles, like slightly chunky handles and the B/W buttons). These problems are now fixed (man I can FINALLY play SSX on this thing :)), there's nothing wrong with that. I'd rather have a well made controller than something new and 'different' that is ultamately teh suck (DS3). The only thing I wish MS changed, and this is a minor quibble, is the buttons to something similar to the look and feel of the DS2's. Sad thing is that they were going to (you can easily see better buttons in the X360 reveal video), but they decided to stick with the original jewel buttons for some odd reason :/

I definitely agree. Has anyone who has held the X360 controller commented on the buttons? The jewel buttons on the Xbox type S controller were so hard that my thumb hurt after playing with it for an hour. They should use a softer material for the buttons on the new controller.

WTF ? Its like the best controller ever made. Not only is it the best for FPS games but also now sports and fighting games with its shoulder button placement.

I'm still confused as to why the Xbox 360 controller is sitting on a lunch plate...

and did someone CUT THE CORD ON THAT CONTROLLER?

I don't think you will be able to change channels with the controller.....hence, no numbers.

Looks somewhat like my comcast digital cable remote, last time I thought the Xbox dvd remote was a real pain, this one looks much better with bigger arrows (God, I hated those triangle buttons on the first one) and an okay button in the middle.

BTW, am I gonna have to buy this remote to play DVD's on my Xbox 360 like I did with Xbox? Not that it really matters, but I'm just wondering how they are doing it this time.

As far as the controller goes....if Nintendo and Sony were smart they would have an on/off button on theres as well. I mean, straight up steal that idea.

It comes with the remote? That's kinda...weird. If so though, it'll force me to use some media functions on it. I can't have a remote and just NOT use it.
