XBL Arcade is going to rock

Playing Smash TV over Live with friends is badass!! Mutant Storm Reloaded is great fun with a controller!!

I know you can do this over EMU, but I have to say that XBL Arcade is pretty freaking sweet!!

I'd love to have someone to play Smash TV with again. It's hard to convince my buddies to go old school with my anymore...

The more I read about Xbox Live Arcade, the cooler I think it'll be. After seeing some of the developers who have signed on, as well as some of the games they have announced, I'm excited. And this is a feature I really had no interest in at first.

you know. i just realized, both MS and Nintendo seem to have a similar service in store for next gen.. do you think Sony will follow suit?

would suck if they didn't.. for me, this is more of a compelling feature than BC

I'd love it if they'd actually tell us how much these games are going to be before I get too excited. I mean, weren't they charging around $10 for crap like Bejeweled?

Mortal Kombat 1, 2, UMK3, and 4 online. Do it Midway.

Hopefully the Live Arcade gets a constant flow of games, including stuff from the Genesis, Arcade, and Saturn.

Well the full version of PC Bejewelled is $20.00 so you cant really blame MS for the pricing. But what Arcade brings is the ability to download the trial versions for free like the PC.

They've said the costs will be much lower per game. Sounds like more in the $5-10 range.

Somebody on this board already confirmed it would be $5-15 with the possibility of cheaper games. I gotta tell ya that if the support is good from Japanese developers I'm all for this service. Its like, LEGAL emulation! :D

GameTap has that too. :)

yeah, but is it going to have voice chat multiplayer with a wireless controller with my ass sitting on the couch. Because thats the real apeal to us lazy people...

although, I wouldnt mind a gametap pricing plan (subscription) for this.

Now we just need Treasure to sign up.

QFT. GUNSTAR HEROES BITCHES!

Live Arcade is going to be pretty neat, but I wouldn't doubt that the games are going to be $10-20 a pop. Cheap enough for the occasional purchase, but nowhere near the price for anyone to want to get more than 10 over the lifespan of the service.

Then again, if Nintendo comes out with $9.99 NES games and $29.99 N64 games (which the majority of us will probably still buy anyway) XBL will be a good alternative.

Live Arcade gets a thumbs up from me in the end.

Yay XBL!
Now I can individually buy games from the same sets companies have already released in compilations!

FYI. Midway Arcade Treasures > XBL Arcade.

Not at all. Have you watched the XBL demo on BlmBlims site?

Seems as if they've put real thought and effort into next gen XBL, quite staggering the amount of things we'll be able to do besides gaming. Cross platform integration seems to be te next logical step for XBL though

Player feedback system is genius btw, MS allow you to avoid bastard gamers that populate live through some neat rating system

XBL next gen is above anything we've seen so far

So is that going to be the party line on why XBL Arcade is Teh Suck, while the Nintendo thing is a revolutionary advance in online entertainment?

Except those games are unenhanced, don't run in HD, and don't offer online multiplayer. Choice for the win!

So whats the story with Gametap do you pay for game downloads like XLA?

$15/month
All the classic console games you want to play as long as you're subscribed--

I'd rather want that concept for XBLA, really.

And as an addendum, jesus fuck is Mew Three acting dumb.

what else do you expect from these guys?

should most of these games that were actually in the arcades be arcade perfect? are they going to "enhance" them in any way? I personally would like to see pixel perfect copies of the actual arcade game and not some enhanced port from a compilation disc or anything like that.

XBLA is a total killer app, it looks to rock us very hard, and there is no way to play most of the currently announced content over EMULATORS.

And for that which you can, you lose out on much multiplayer and scoreboard competition functionality!
