XBL: Games with Gold

I'd like:
Forza 4
NFS: Most Wanted (the first one)
Alan Wake
Crackdown 2
Saints Row 1-3
Mortal Kombat
PGR 4

We'll see what happens.

My bets:

GoD
Alan Wake
Gears of War 1 or 2 (maybe 3, is $19.99 now)
Viva Piñata
Banjo-Kazooie: Nuts & Bolts

XBLA
Hydro Thunder
Peggle
Perfect Dark
The Maw
Toy Soldiers

I'm changing my guess.

Call of Duty 2, the GOAT launch game is back B^)

Condemned would be pretty cool, never finished it and loved it , needs more love

Do you know if there is gonna be some kind of IP lock for gaming related content on Xbox One ?

I haven't heard anything about that, so I think it's safe to assume that it'll work like how it does now.

I hope for this too. I missed out on Halo3 with my US account in Japan. I was exited about that one too...

In my case, I live in the US and have a US account, but my 360 is Japanese. So while IP locks don't affect me, region locks definitely do. All the free games for the US thus far have thankfully been region free, and I hope that continues.

I would also guess either Gears 1 or Viva Pinata.

However, it could be from ANY publisher. It could be a retail game from as early as 2010 (Fable 3), to an XBLA game as early as last year (Magic the Gathering).

There HAD to be a push in Gold sales after Halo 3. I'm sure SOMEONE at Microsoft is saying "did you SEE the jump in activity on XBLive???"

It would make sense to release another game with multiplayer. Games with online play show off the benefits of Gold Membership. There's no way they can't see that after releasing Halo 3 and Rainbow 6: Vegas.

I could see them releasing:

Blur
Borderlands
Call of Duty 4
Forza 4
Gears of War 2
one of the Lego games
Soul Calibur 5
Split Second
Street Fighter x Tekken
The Club

Its going to be hard to follow up Halo 3. Unless its a game released in the last couple years, its going to be disappointing no matter what they post up.

So less than 10 hours on where I live before it's the first of November, and we still don't know which game we're getting?

Where do you live?
Live in The Netherlands, so the same timezone as you do. Forgot to type the "0" after the 1 to make it a 10.... My bad, I edited it.

Even so as Lima said, folks in New Zealand already live in November. How is it that we still don't know what game it is.

Edit: Just checked the Xbox site in New Zealand. And that still mentions Halo 3 as the free the game.

"In order to celebrate the launch of Halo 4 one year ago, and after seeing the success of Halo 3 going free, we decided to give Halo 4 for free this month. "

I wish this would happen. :(

As far as I'm aware, all updates worldwide happen at the same time, regardless of geographical location. It's one of the US time zones, but I forget which (East Coast, I think).

This is why DotW, etc don't kick in till 10am on Tuesdays in the UK.

If I get gold and get one of the games from the "games with gold" promotion, do I get to keep them once I my subscriptions expires?

Most of the GoG have been games that have a sequel in the mix for Xbox one.

Hopefully banjo shows up :)

You can keep them even after your subscription expires. But it's only one free game at a time.

Yeah, I read your post and added A World of Keflings to the rumour list. The original rumour stated the first game would be A Kingdom for Keflings. Now I'm not sure which one it is anymore.

My source is someone saying there is an ad in the Finnish Pelaaja magazine in which the games (AKFK and Iron Brigade) are mentioned. I don't have the mag so I can't confirm.

I wouldn't mind that, only because I don't have that game and pretty much every game they've given since they started this I've had. (Magic 2013 was the only one I've downloaded so far)
