Xbox 2 developer's kit arrives for Mac

Does this mean that Xenon*cough*PC*cough* games have a chance of being released for Macs faster (more frequently)? =P

no.

Really aren't using the 'Mac' platform. They are using the hardware (PPC), and it just happens that Apple is the largest distrubutor of hardware that uses PPC CPUs.

People dont realize that MS has had Windows running on PowerPC chipset for years. They used to sell Windows NT for PowerPC and others. This is because NT (Windows 2000, Windows XP, XBOX) kernel runs on top of a Hardware Abstract Layer.

I was wondering the other day if they could somehow translate the XNA (or whats it called) to a mac environment for easier porting.

Would be nice.

Of course they could, but I really doubt it would be worth the effort considering the size of the market.

MS should release Longhorn for PPC when it comes out. Haha, that'd be funny if people were using a Mac with Windows.

I do already on mine. It's called Virtual PC, made by MS.

Heh, I remember the "surprise" when mac hardware was being shipped in for early GC development..

I'm guessing it'll probably be the same scenario for Revolution too.

Obviously I mean natively so you don't have to have Mac OS. (Wouldn't that be funny? You having a Mac without OSX and with Windows? I think so!) And even then, Virtual PC doesn't run Longhorn. I don't care about XP I'm talking next gen.
