Maybe you can put it on a turntable and scratch with it.

"Genesis" is the coolest name for a system ever, btw
I still say PSP should have been named Playgirl.Marc said:I generally think that abbreviations like N64, PS2 and PSP sound way better than the full console names.
The Abominable Snowman said:Xbox Next. It worked for the Gameboy Advanced...
gofreak said:An awful name, but awful names can eventually latch on, and become second nature with enough use. Still, an awful name. I can see their predicament, though - they can't call it Xbox 2.
6.8 said:That's the coolest console name I've ever heard. Anyone that doesn't think that way hasn't said it outloud.
If that doesn't do it for you, try to scream it at the top of your lungs.
If that still doesn't do it for you, I don't know what will.
Actually I believe that name is already owned by someone else...NeXt-Box would've been cute.
Frankly I think that's a stupid reasoning too. For one, Sony has not confirmed the name of their next system yet either - what if they named it Playstation 969, will that make it seem superior to XBox 360 too? :\Microsoft are clever for not going with simply XBox 2 - it will make it seem that PS3 is superior, being thir generation, or whatever.
jedimike said:Exactly... MS had to keep Xbox in it's name simply because of Xbox Live. If it was called Xenon, then Xbox Live would seem like an old online gaming service. They couldn't do Xbox 2 because then PS3 would be one up on Xbox.
Xbox 360 makes sense... it is the center of your living room and connects to everything around it. I would have preferred HD for high def... but then it seems narrow in scope. 3-6-O will catch on.

gofreak said:Don't know it's already been suggested, but perhaps we'll see a spate of "360" post-fixes to game titles, ala "Waverace 64", "Mario Kart 64" etc. Halo 360, anyone?![]()
Krowley said:as to the name "360". i imagine we will get used to it. it has a certain ring to it IMO, but it makes no sense.

Or Xbox Evolution.
360 just sounds dumb, and it's bound to confuse consumers. Halo 360!
Fuzzy said:Please tell me you didn't do that on purpose.
mrkgoo said:I believe 360 refers to coming full circle. Their first generation they took a huge loss to get a brand name established - now they ready to REALLY begin.
Haha, yeah, it reminds of those stupid children's games where they try to convey how much one of them is right or whatever, by saying stuff like "My dad is 10 times stronger than yours! No, mine is 100 times stronger! Mine is infinitely stronger!!"Sony or Nintendo should rename their next systems now
Playstation Infinity +1
Nintendo seventygajillionnillionhillionbillionmillion
Bigger number means better!!!!!
COCKLES said:It was never going to be Xbox 2.
Probably because Sony's marketing would of consisted of fake scorelines along the line of
Euro ad-
Juventus 4 - AC Milan 2
Arsenal 1 - Chelsea 1
Xbox 2 - Playstation 3
Benfica 1 - Ajax 2
"Join the winning team" tm
gofreak said:Next would't work - as soon as it hit the shelves and became "current" it'd no longer be next.
Evolution is too long and a bit cumbersome..splitting the brand into two seperate words isn't a good idea. You couldn't join them together ala Playstation, because Xbox is known as one word now.
