You have seen user-made pictures comparing the Xbоx 360 dimensions with the Xbоx, which gave you a good idea of the size of the console. But until now, the exact physical dimensions of the Xbоx 360 were unknown. Well, the dimensions of the Xbоx 360 are no longer a mystery. We have just received the official info regarding the Xbоx 360 physical dimensions, including its weight.

The Xbоx 360 weights 7.7 pounds (3.5 kg) and is:

309 mm wide x 83 mm high x 258 mm deep

12.15 in wide x 3.27 in high x 10.15 in deep

The Xbоx weight 8.8 pounds (4 kg) and is:

305 mm wide x 101 mm high x 203 mm deep

12 in wide x 4 in high x 8 in deep

Is this official?
Because there's a lot of confusion,a lot of people believe it's as big as the originale PS2 or slightly bigger.
If these dimentions are true it's just sligtly smaller than the original Xbox.

Their Xbox dimensions are wrong, it's at least 10" deep. It's also more like 3" high, not 4". And it's a little more than 12" wide by my reckoning.

Blah, if they can't get that right who's to say their X360 numbers are correct? Anyone have official figures for Xbox at least?

This is IMPOSSIBLE. My Xbox is:

320 mm wide x 95/100 mm high x 245/260 mm (depends where you measure) deep

I used this:

TeamXbox is Wrong.

If the measures are right, then x360 is actually bigger than the first xbox.
When sitting on it's longer side it's only 0,4 cm narrower and 2 cm shorter but a whole 5 cm deeper.
They must be wrong.

Hmm. I think its too thick.

I'd have taken a wider console if they'd lost some height. How often is width a problem, assuming you already have DVD player/Video/STB whatever? They should have taken those as a standard and made it as thin as possible.

Case closed, it is roughly of the same size as a PS2 and near a 30% smaller than a Xbox.

Same size as an Xbox to me. I don't care about width or depth. Height is about the same.

I hope you like the Revolution then, because PS3 is not much smaller. Seriously, is about as big as the old PS2, big, sure, but not humongous.

The PS3 is bigger than the PS2 but smaller than the original Xbox.

What, the Xbox only weighs 4 kg? Hmm, I imagined it to be heavier...maybe I need to rebuild my biceps. :lol

Well PS3 is just stupid shaped, so that doesn't help.

I only have room for one big, ugly console in my AV unit. Revolution is pretty enough to stay outside. The winner will be permanently connected, the loser will be in the sideboard and bought out when needed.

Nice picture. Guess that settles it. It's basically the same size, just slimmed down a bit.

Are we from the same universe? It's SMALLER and it stands on its side. I seem to remember that when the Xbox was larger than the PS2 it was FUCKIN JUMBO but now that the 360 is basically the same dimensions as a PS2, it's miraculously about the same size as an Xbox?

Don't get me wrong, I'm not suggesting the 360 is suddenly tiny, I'm just blurting out "What the fuck" through a fine spray of coffee.

Actually, if you include the piece where the removable HDD slot is [see photo at the beginning of the thread], the maximum width puts it at just a bit slimmer than the original Xbox. You just can't see it do to the perspective of the side by side shot.

Still, the 360 design as compared to the original is like night and day.

Man I'm really starting to dig the look of the 360. The only things that bugs me is that all the lettering is sideways...I know its a minor thing but it makes the console look like its "meant" to be laid flat...know what I mean

To me depth is most important and it is also a valid concern if you want it to stand vertically. But personally it is because of ventilation in my cabinet.

damn, the 360 actually looks sexy there. first time i seen it in a real world environment... makes a big difference. or maybe it's just because it's next to old big black and ugly. ;)

I am amazed at the number of threads about the size of this thing. Seriously now, who the hell cares? I don't think "Gosh, I wish that Xbox was just a little bit smaller. It clashes with my decor." It's a damn game machine for crying out loud. Some chick is not going to walk into your room and sleep with you because she thought the X360 looked like a Tivo unit. Or an air purifier. Or a tampon. Nobody cares about this shit. 99% of people are going to have it horizontal, and stuffed under their TV somewhere.

Is the power supply outside? I thought the pictures showed a grounded power connector which would seemingly indicate an internal power supply.

Nobody now that ps3 is proven to be about the same size. It was more ammo for the sony camp, thats all.

Now isn't that something, its smaller than the Xbox1 but 15x more powerful. Wow, I wonder how did they acheive that.

Heh, I know where you are going with this, but looking at the size of the X360 is just a weeeeee bit bigger than 3 DVD cases stacked on top of each other. :D

All consoles should do that. It saves space and removes a major heat source from the case

I concur. As long as the power brick has a cord that runs to the power outlet. Nothing worse than a brick that consumes half your power strip.

on a side note, Beta kits have gone out to some developers in the last few days... The days of Alpha G5s are nearly behind us.

But its not that much smaller than the original Xbox. You would think three cores running at 3.2Ghz would require more space than that, if its running SO HOT.

And why hasn't this question been asked of developers who have had time with consoles, who also should have opinions about another companies console.

Oh yeah, the 500Mhz GPU. What is the front side bus of the XCPU?
