I didn't see this posted as a thread, though it might be in another thread on GAF, didnt take the time to search too long. no idea if this is real or what, basicly saw it on TXB, quickly searched GAF front page, and fired.

Sounds reasonable.

Still, think the CPU speed may not be that high given IBM difficulties getting the G5 processor up to 3 GHZ for Apple.

Wi-fi ready? so no built-in?

You just plug a USB wi-fi adapter and go? Not perfect, but good. Keeps the initial cost down and you can use your existing wi-fi usb adapter(s).

But can it make pies?

...

Play music from portable devices
*thumbs up*

Too bad they couldn't go the extra little bit and allow game saves in portable harddrives :(

assuming of course the 20 gig hd isn't built in. But what the hell would the memory cards be for then?

20 gig detachable HD built in would be a killer app feature for me MS. MAKE IT HAPPEN.

And yet another leak. I'm sure MS is thrilled.

and we have our real specs folks ;)

I don't know why people think this is a huge deal, nobody beyond us hardcore geeks give 2 shits about knowing this stuff early.

Razoric said:
so uh tech guys are those specs better / worse than you thought?

I'm not an expert on GPUs by any means but the GPU really looks impressive.. 48 pipelines + unified shader architecture at 500mhz sounds really good..

So, whats the point of the hard drive if you dont have live gold? Sounds more like a hard drive subscription.

:lol

I'm asssuming that means dot products. There was talk MS was tweaking to improve dot product performance, though I've honestly no idea how this holds up (i'm guessing "good")

Free XBL on weekends? Damn, I only play it on weeknights. :(

Features sound interesting enough. Sweet.

hahaha BlimBlim confirms the validity of what could have been a rumour! BlimBlim am make mistake!

Plus the point of a harddrive would be game saves and faster loading times of course.

it looks like with live silver you can do almost anything that requires an internet connection except for playing games which i think is a good idea.

mmmmmm

support for 4 wireless controllers but only 3 usb ports.

i hope this doesnt mean we will be buying batteries :/

Thus I sense your hand quivering at the mere thought of starting a new thread in games, same thread title and all.
So silver doesn't get multiplayer online gameplay and yet it's LIVE for free? Ok...
The list says they can play on the weekends (or certain weekends). Plus the demo downloads.

So Silver people get to play on weekends for free? NOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

God damn stupid kids running wild on XBL >:D

Anyway, awesome, awesome news. Ms making all the right moves, XBL for world domination!

So what will the games be stored on? HD-DVD? Didn't see it mentioned in the specs...

1. Support for DVD-video, DVD-Rom, DVD-R/RW, CD-DA, CD-Rom, CD-R, CD-RW, WMA CD, MP3 cd, JPEG photo CD

So, to those in the know- this is legit? I guess BlimBlim confirmed it.

There's what looks like a fact sheet thing about the Xenon later in that thread, along with this pic, showing the 360 and media center remote next to a Xbox:

Specs are good.. 3.2 Ghz * 8 * 3 = 76.8 GFlop/s :D
I hope PS3 doubles this figure at least..

Not 3.2*10*3?

Pretty close to that Xenon leaked diagram from last year! ;)

Indeed, seems right in line with expectations based on that (well, lower clock versus 3.5, but higher than the 3 that was later suggested). Amazing how we could know so much about a system so early.

I would be so happy if all this is actually true. MS seem to be doing a wonderful job in wiining me over to get Xbox 360. They have already exceeded my expectations. I just cant understand what use a detatchable harddrive is.

If it supports DVD-R/RW won't pirating be a problem? It's probably do something like the DC Boot sequence and we all know how that worked out.
