Seriously, Mass Effect 2, out of all the games I've played in the last few years, is the most impressive piece of gaming to me. This, after not really caring much for the first Mass Effect.

Sure did as I have it. Was a bit surprised by that move on SE's part.
 
It took me 90 minutes of running around but I finally got one. Best Buy's web site said these bundles were in stores located in my area but bullshit they had none in,Target and Walmart didn't either. I figured it was a waste of time after that but I still I wanted to run into local Game Stop to pick up a new Live point card for my old 360 when low and behold Elite spring bundles.:D

Strange that they had them since I read on their web site that these were to begin shipping on the 17th. Well whatever,just happy I got one. Needed a bigger HD and my old 360,though it still runs ok,needs abit of a break. Gonna go and break in Forza3 and Halo ODST real quick.

Did anyone else manage to find the new bundled Elite in the wild also?

Well son of a bitch. This makes me twice annoyed I bought my xbox when I did.

I got my pro a week before ms announced that elites were dropping to 299.

I'm still irritated. >:0
 
I don't understand why microsoft hasn't started bundling all their consoles with games. They sell so much better. I mean plus it helps the attach rate for games right?

They are doing it. there was FFXIII bundle, now the spring bundle with Forza and ODST, Splinter Cell bundle is coming next month, I'm sure they will bundle Alan Wake and Crackdown too.

my 360 died, and I was content to wait out the slim, but $50 gift card is almost too good to pass up.

i don't know what to do!!!
 
First of all, I want that case to "fix" my copy of Lost Odyssey.

Second, I paid 120$ for both those titles just 3 months ago.

3rd, I need a bigger HDD.

4th, I don't know where I'm going with this, maybe I could buy this for the HDD and case, sell the 360 and the two games, get what I want for 100$?

The slim isn't real. (yet). We don't know that it exists, and god only knows what could happen at launch (hard to find, hardware problems, etc) and god only knows when it will launch. And god only knows if there will be a bundle as good as this for the launch.

Rather than wait for the unknown, jump into what you know :P
 
so how long does gaf think it will take before i can snag one of these used - and how much will it cost me? (because both games got pushed off of my holiday buy list - and i'd love to try them out SOME time in the near future)

edit: and im referring to the disk itself, not the console.

When was the PS3 Sim announced? I remember they were being sold in the stores late August, 2009.

I pre-ordered my PS3 slim through Amazon the *hour* it was announced and was in the very first shipment out so according to Amazon:

Reserved: 8/18/09
Shipped: 8/25/09

That game case is rather nice, I like how it's like a merge of two fronts of game boxes back to back, and hurrah non stacked discs! now MS you need to use that sort of box for your other multi disc games, assholes!

Then we might have to wait for a little longer after E3 for an announcement of 360 Slim or whatever they call it. I am thinking it would be released sometime early fall or November along with Natal.
 
I have the Forza 250GB bundle here, but I can return it for the Forza/ODST bundle.

It's tempting, I'm interested in the Reach beta, but since I have four controllers for the 360, I can always sell them for ODST :lol

Don't do it, Forza/ODST bundle only has a 120gb HDD. you can get ODST separately but not the 250GB HDD.
