Mac style badly imitated with unnecessary gimmicks (inhaled shape etc.). Lacking a strong design identity, camera is an oddly shaped ellipse, and the controller isn't sharing the same visual identity.

I'd say I share some of the same sentiment. I don't think it' particularily ugly, but it does look like some knockoff-gone-wrong of recent Apple design. The shape of memory card ports and disc tray don't help it. Very surprised they didn't went with slot loading drive. I'd say the concave shape is it's identity however, it's that makes it recognizable for better or for worse :\ Controller seems to fit that identity, but the camera definitely does not.

Looks fine to me. Harsh lighting conditions and poor pickup by cameraphone aren't helping first impressions. I'm glad to see confirmation of a camera peripheral...really excited to see where that goes next gen with two major hardware manufacturers supporting it. I just hope it doesn't get used primarily for videochat.

There's probably very few people who are actually writing off the console because of its design, whether they like it or not. Let's not confuse understandable discussion of its looks (in a thread where we see the console!) with dismissal of what the system offers
