xbox.com is back

BC still seems to be Fable, Halo, Halo 2 by last count.

I hunted all over--couldn't find the BC list either.

How stupid are they? The game page for Madden 360 has pics from the regular X Box version.

Sure it's not just the 360 version downscaled to an SDTV resolution?

I keed.

I also can't find the page to link my Gamertag to my Passport. This will make transferring the thing to 360 quite a pain.

WildTangent makes some of the shittiest software on the planet. Xbox Live Music Mixer wouldn't even boot because it couldn't log into Live. What a POS.

Alex St. John should be ashamed of that travesty.

The My Xbox pages arent up yet. All that stuff will be in there.

they say "an array" of games, too, so its obviously not just 3 like some trolls are claiming.
On the other hand, they didn't say "wide array", though. I wish they'd release the damn list already.

array of games:

bcgames = New Array(3);
bcgames[0] = "Halo";
bcgames[1] = "Halo 2";
bcgames[2] = "Fable";

There you go--an array of backwards compatible games for X360.

Xbox 360 is the perfect centerpiece for your hi-tech living room. Watch your DVD movies in glorious 720p from the get go

wtf? Thats gotta be wrong.

It also mentions streaming video with MCE, but audio and photos with XP. With the release of XP media connect 2.0, I hope thats not MS being arrogant hoping we'll all upgrade to MCE.

The Player Review system is basically a matchmaking tool that directly affects a player's rep (reputation) based on user-submitted feedback. Let's say you just schooled some fools playing Perfect Dark Zero™. The other team suffered an embarrassing defeat, but they took it in stride and were good sports.

Players like these are great to play with, so after the game you look through the player list in the post-game lobby, highlight each player you liked, and make it known that you "prefer" to be matched with those competitors. The entire process takes two button presses per player to complete. What happens now?

The Player Match system assigns a higher priority to those people that you prefer (based on your feedback submission), thus increasing the likelihood that you'll play them again online. You don't have to add these folks to your Friends List to reap the benefits, either. The system simply notes that you had a positive gameplay session with these players, and tries to group you together next time the conditions exist. This increases the chances that you'll game with them again so you can "feel them out" over time, like bumping into a familiar face at a friend's party. In other words, you've just taken control of your matchmaking by giving some folks positive feedback. In the end, your gaming experience is vastly improved.

Negative player reviews work the same way, but with the opposite effect. Let's say a few guys on the other team were caught spawn camping, team killing, and engaging in other dastardly acts.

Your anonymous negative feedback simply reduces the chance that you'll play against those people in the future. Criticism can fall under numerous categories such as communication, behavior, and skill, so you have a degree of control when doling out a negative player review. Recipients of poor feedback will take a hit on their rep, and will be matched up with other players of similar ilk. So the jerks get matched up with other jerks, while the rest of us play with good sports.

I also love the fact that the ranking system is global. The Battle.net/Halo system may have its problems, but it's a damn sight better than the entirely random custom game setup most Live games use.

WOW that new ranking system sounds fuggin sweet :) I hate going against the same cheaters again and again...............

Can the 360 upscale?

I know that MS is going to have high-def content available in the marketplace. Basically On-Demand movies. I assume that this is what they are refering to, although I wouldn't be suprised if the 360 also upscales standard DVD movies. It certainly wouldn't be a true 720P, but the scalar in the 360 has to be superior to anything currently available in the market. (I'm refering to DVD players with built-in doublers that upscale the output)

Isn't there an issue with Macrovision and Upscalling past 480p?

With the movie studios...
I wonder if MS managed to get them to accept upscaling through an non HDCP cable. Such a stupid restriction anyway, why would anyone want to capture upscaled content when they can get the original stream on their PC and upscale them directly there?

It's obviously going to be backward compatible with more than three games. Come on now, be serious.

Your right, its four titles

When the My Xbox features come alive the last week of October, folks will easily be able to create a gamer card and sign in to My Xbox.

No worries.

I like the new design

what i dont like is

- the image viewer... xbox 360 screens are not displayed properly plus other screens are compressed. (solution: for 360 pages make the image viewer wider to support the 720p shots w/ 640x360 shots for people with slower connections) and keep the standard 640x480 for Xbox games)

- viewing videos... trying to watch the pgr 3 video was hard because i think it was streaming at 910K a second... and my connection is the standard 1.5Mbps/400kbps DSL. (solution: bring back Xbox TV and seperate the xbox and xbox 360 games... also adding the option to download the trailers)

- RIDGE RACER 6 NOT BEING IN THE LAUNCH LINE UP PAGE

Can anyone tell me if Xbox Live is up yet?
I try to connect and it just tells me
Xbox Live is not responding.
Please try again later.
