It appears that Microsoft is asking for the Xbox Series consoles back from the Brazilian websites to which they lent them, shortly after informing that the Xbox Series S would have the suggested price increased in Brazil from $530 from $730

The first to speak out about this was journalist and photographer Nelson Alves Jr., who has already worked with the Xbox in the country, saying that Microsoft is "retaliating against the websites and content creators that dared to question the abusive increase in S...taking it back consoles loaned to newsrooms."

- In case you didn't know, companies usually provide their products to some of the press to help them with journalistic coverage. In the case of consoles, this is a loan for an indefinite period, but which the owner of the devices can cancel at any time.

Other websites/content creators report the same situation - that Xbox is ceasing the contracts and asking for the consoles back:

Does MS realize that this will mean less coverage of their own consoles, reducing consumer awareness of the platform in Brazil.

After the price increase, maybe they can't..!
Hehe, yeah.. Well, then their lack of audience has spoken and they don't deserve to survive.

I have never understood why websites don't buy their own hardware and games. Most of them don't even bother to make a fucking disclaimer about their corrupted asses.

Weird. I am almost certain that those consoles can't be resold so at this point this is just insulting the people that you wanted to be seen promoting the console. I can't see them being that stupid but who knows ?

Good, the thought of being matched with peasants online makes me sick, I like to think im gaming with the upper echelon of society only, hopefully they will make it a filter for matchmaking at some point.

This is the biggest problem with the games media at the moment and has been for some time.

Has there been a major shift in the economy in Brazil or something like that?

What is that, like a 35% percent increase. Yikes for those folks.

Does it really matter? Microsoft gave up on Hardware years ago.

It has no chance against Nintendo or PlayStation in moving units.
Regardless of the hardware, the brand is now more important than ever if they're truly going down the path they want to.

This is fine. Phil Spencer will soon give his 1000th interview this year, tell us this is all his fault and that he is very humbled with the criticism and that he will do better... until their next fuck up.

has anyone ever seen Adams & Colt in the same room together? 🤔

edit: also this is the exact same energy that the evangelists had when Xbox backed off on doubling the price of Xbox Live Gold, when they walk back something after a massive backlash somehow that's a 'win' for Xbox 🤨 (you'd think winning would be if they didn't try to do something stupid in the first place? 🤷🏼‍♂️)
