Xbox isn’t in trouble

Xbox consoles are definitely in trouble. There is a transition toward PC going on right now. It's very likely that Xbox consoles will be niche within Microsoft gaming.
Xbox as an ecosystem, platform, publisher is not in trouble
I'd argue that they are as a publisher also in trouble.

They continue to make games that don't become critical darlings, and they don't sell a lot either. Since 2024, they have closed 5 studios:
  1. Arkane Austin
  2. Tango
  3. Alpha Dog
  4. Roundhouse
  5. The Initiative
And canceled a ton of other first- and second-party games (and put a couple of second-party studio partners out of business in the process). Things are clearly not looking for them as a publisher either. It's just that their hardware business is so much shittier that it gets most of the negative limelight.

Flagship franchises, silly rumors internet trolls chew on, everyone's favorite controller and UI Xbox will be in the gaming cycle for as long as they want

The softwareside is still increasing. And they've only just started their third party publishing era of putting everything on ever-growing Sony and Nintendo platforms. They'll be day 1 everywhere for everything soon and there is no Gamepass route outside Xbox/Xbox App to cannibalize game sales. So no worries, there will be several hundred million potential customers for the next Forza Horizon, Halo, Gears, Fable, The Elder Scrolls, etc.

As a controller, sure they are fine

Wait until you see their new controller that functions like an Amazon Luna :)
Ok, what do you know about Sebile? Have you seen it? Held it? Tested it? Watched video of it?
I didn't switch sides lol. I've been gaming on Steam for 20 years and I was playing on PC well before that.

I'll always have love for Xbox. Love the ecosystem.
Hell yea, that's the way to do it. Enjoy what you like, Happy Gaming.

I mean...even Call of Duty. Look at it this year. Everything MS touches turns to shit.
PS5 going to outsell 3 Xbox console generations.
By the end of the PS5 gen, it will have outsold the first Xbox, Xbox One, Xbox Series gens...together and a bit of 360 units.

Let that sink in.

Yes, because daddy Microsoft is behind it. They can buy Zenimax/Bethesda for $8 billion, they can buy Activision Blizzard for $70 billion, they can offe $1 Game Pass with day one first party games and… all thanks to daddy's infinite money, not some super high-quality management.
