I have been trying to get a stable connection over live using
my XBOX360, recently.

I have a linksys WRTP54G (Vonage VoIP) router.
A motorola SB3100 Cable modem.

Whenever i play any game over Xbox live
while hooked up to my router i my connection drops and
cable modem consistently goes through a power cycle.
bypassing the router altogether makes the auto power cycling
of the modem much more infrequent (maybe twice in hours of playing).

Hearing that Vonage may be the problem, i decided to try
my other Linksys router the WRT54G. I played a few rounds
of the Outfit demo, with the same result. dropped connection, modem
power cycles, reestablishes connection.

I have yet to try a new modem, but does anyone have or have heard of
a problem like this one? Is there more information i need to give?

Have you called Xbox customer support ? Thats the first thing I would do.

well, if you tried with two different routers and also a direct connection, it's either your cable modem or the line... did you call your ISP?

called comcast, sending out a technician, though i am hooked through a different cable modem now, and I am about to try a GRAW match to test to see if the same problem will occur.

It's off some Flaming Lips dvd I think. And yeah. It's discusting.
