Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Heads up in case it isn't common knowledge: Gears 4 comes with codes for the other 4 Gears games in Europe. I don't know about other regions. Based on the wording of the promo I was expecting waves of codes via Xbox messages but maybe they changed their minds.

edit: physical copies of Gears 4 that is. Don't know about digital.

Ah crap, my favorite fighting game Street Fighter Third Strike is on sale, tempted to buy, but I haven't seen Capcom bring much to backwards compatibility.

really? you are the only person I've ever read that liked that game.

It was certainly flawed in several ways, but overall I enjoyed exploring the world they put together and gutting fools with a tomahawk. :D

Much like Far Cry 3, I'm hoping the BC version can address some of the framerate hiccups.

We got capcom arcade and final fight recently right?

I'm hesitant to pick up anything not bc for the same reason.

I really hope this happens! My best friend and I would play it nonstop whenever we hung out.

oh sweet Puzzle fighter and SF2 Turbo HD are also on sale. Gotta get those now :D

Battlestations: Midway isn't doing anything to install on mine, tried a hard restart and everything.

EDIT: I managed to get it started by searching for the game in the Store, and installing it from there.

I'd really like to get Jurassic Park, but it wad never release in Europe and it doesn't look like it's available as bc either. Shame.

So what are the hoops I need to go through to buy US games? Pretty sure I've seen plenty of talk about it, but my searches led nowhere.

so with lost odyessy only needing one disc to play the whole game on XB1 what are the chances this will be the same for Blue Dragon? are other multi disc xbox 360 BC games on the XB1 the same way?

More than likely (it makes sense to tie it only one disc out of the set) but no one can say for sure except Microsoft.

Edit - Holding off on downloading until a Digital Foundry video dissecting Dragon's Lair's performance on the Xbox One is released.

Should be fine since it is video-based game. I'm sure your worried about the possibility of high input lag. I can see that being issue, but I would think that would be the one thing that they made sure to get right before releasing it. Since they would not need to really worry about graphic glitches or anything like that. On a side note I have re-bought Dragon's Lair so many times over the years.
Commodore 64 (it was actually pretty decent in my opinion, even though it was 2D sprites as video was not possible)
Super NES
Sega CD
3DO
PC (Windows 98 version)
PS2/DVD
Never bought the Blu-Ray version which is kind of funny, because the whole point of me buying it each time was to get a better looking version (cleaner video). The Blu-Ray version would obviously have to be the best version. I wonder how a 4K upscaled Blu-Ray version would look on my Xbox1S.

Desperately waiting for

Dragon's Dogma - Probably never coming because Capcom might want to remaster
Kingdoms of Amalur - Probably never coming due to legal entanglements
Alien vs Predator - Licensed game so iffy, but more likely than the other two since it's currently available digitally on the 360 store.

Sorry but thanks for your response. That was meant to be sarcastic but I didn't make that clear enough :-)

HAHA It's all good. How funny would it be if Digital Foundry actually did do a tech analysis? Might actually want one now just for the humor factor. They could do it as their next DF Retro video.

Man KoA was a really good game, such a shame that it has all these problems and more people wont get to play it.

My Halo Reach was sat under Updates, went to install it, and it completed immediately, so I'm guessing that nothing was actually done to it?

So I got Sonic Transformed disc and whenever I put it in it's just a generic disc and says install disc. I press A and nothing happens. Anyone else have that problem?

I'd really like to see some straightforward comparisons of some more BC games on XBO versus XBO S.

Particularly troubled ones like Gears 3/Judgment, Reach, etc.

Have you tried a hard reboot?

Yup. I tried a hard reset. I tried taking the disc out and putting a new one in. Lost Odyssey works fine. I'll try a few more things.

so crazy thing happened. it just said install game, but when I went to sonic and sega all-stars racing Transformed it gave me the option to install. It was odd because it never had me do that before this game.

Desperately waiting for Dragon's Dogma, Kingdoms of Amalur, and Alien vs Predator.

Bonus points for Aliens vs. Predator. One of three games I picked up with my 360, and the only one out of those three that isn't BC yet (L4D2 and Blops were the other two).

Really hoping for Aliens vs. Predator, Asura's Wrath, Fable: Anniversary, Sonic & SEGA All-Stars Racing, CoD: Blops II, both Transformers Cybertron games, Charlie Murder, Dust: An Elysian Tale, and both Darksiders. Quite a few others too, but those are probably my main wishes.

I love the first Puzzle Quest. Maybe this will prompt people to play tonight so I can finally get that last "Win an Xbox Live Match" achievement.

Great question.

I would like to know....
[1] if performance has improved on Xbox One
[2] when it will be on sale again digitally

I also wonder about the performance. Wish they had a way to fix the pop in issues, but i'll take a stable framerate at least. Also it would be nice if it went on sale before Halloween.

Puzzle Quest is a nice surprise actually. I was worried that with the release of PQ2 there was something holding back the original from happening.

Dragon's Dogma- just do it capcom! Mah money is ready

Kingdom of Amalur- I know that it's just that I really want to play it,I bought ut on sale then my 360 power supply cooling system broke down and now it overheats after 5-10 minutes of playtime.

AvP- I just want to re-feel a 6v6v6 soecies team deathmatch #sogood.

So I've noticed XCOM Enemy Within (expansion one) doesn't let me use the screenshot or record feature, the option just doesn't appear. Is this a bug? Do some games just not allow it?
