Xbox One Backwards Compatibility Thread: Everyone wants it, no one uses it

Does anyone know anything about any fighting games becoming bc at any time soon because when they do i can't wait for the population boost and to be able to play some games i missed out the chance to play at their peak online. hopefully some of the first can be Mark Of The Wolves, Skullgirls and KoF 13.
Really the coolest thing about BC is the fact that I want to buy the games that I never got the chance to play before. missed out on some gems and was late to the party to the really great games that didn't get the attention that they deserved.

Ed Boon pretty much confirmed Mortal Kombat vs DC Universe and Mortal Kombat 9 will be BC. No idea how soon though. Rest of fighting games I have no idea what will be BC or not

Since Borderlands is on sale through Black Friday, I was thinking about buying it. However, in Germany the game is quite a bit censored, so I really do not want the German version.

Now it is the question if I have to change my region of my live account to buy the UK version of the game, or if it is enough if I buy the game from the German store and then switch my Xbox One region to England to get the uncut Borderlands nevertheless.

360 Store is not completely region free, I'm pretty sure changing region could remove a few licenses from your account, so watch out when doing so.

I'd rather go for a disc copy if I was you, or make a new UK account and save your console as its Xbox Home, so you can play it with your account

For 360 games I'd just stick to your own region, most of them are cheap enough the difference isn't really worth the possible risks.

That recent update has really improved the framerate in the Gears games. I'm playing through 3 at the moment, and whilst it's still chunky in places it's a lot better than it was before.

I honestly can't remember how the game ran on 360 though, don't know if there's still room for improvement or not.

Judgement still has some of it's later big battles running like a slideshow, something I doubt will ever be fully fixed due to the nature of emulation, that's how I feel anyway.

I had a feeling that the quality of 360 titles on GWG would drop once the BC announcement was made. Somehow I just couldn't see getting large titles every month.

I bought it from xbox.de and switch the location from my xbox one to United States and it downloaded the uncensored version with all dlc. In my opinion one of the best features of BC.

Question for Gears 3 players - is the season pass worth getting? I don't know if anybody still uses the maps.

I wanna say that the DLC maps are in the standard rotation for quite a few of the playlists, so it won't let you play that gametype if you don't have them.

I did. I click on Downloadable Content in the main menu, and it says New Revolution and Secret Armory already purchased. The Underdome and Zombie Island are $9.99 a piece. I'll post on the xbox forums to see if it's a bug or something.

EDIT: So it's apparently already installed? I thought it would be larger than 3.2 GB
EDIT: Other people on xbox forums are saying that if they bought some of the DLC, it's not showing up as installed. I'll have to wait until later tonight so I can play until I get fast travel to see if it actually is installed.

I came here to inquire about this, any news yet?

I haven't really played a lot of any one of my Xbox 360 games on one. Should I take this statement as....some games are basically unplayable or so bad it's unenjoyable? Or should I take this as, some hiccups detract from the experience, but overall it's still good and nice to have on the Xbox One?

From the first wave, I have about half of them and though I cannot verify their quality experienced throughout all of their modes 100%, I'd say that it seems like eight to nine out of ten work flawlessly, or very close to. The rest work great to perfect until certain levels of intensity where the performance can affect playability to varying degrees. If people can be active in their feedback to MS, I think most extreme issues can be addressed over time. I still think an updatable list of user-reported experiences would be helpful to prospective buyers/players as well as the team responsible for updating BC titles. That said, you should ask about them in this thread before purchase or simply try them yourself if you already own the disc or digital version.

ME 2 and 3 never had Games on Demand releases either, I would say maybe once they sort out multi disc games but even then, it may not happen.
I don't think being multi-disc was ever the issue, was it? 'cause LA Noire was a multi-disc game and that's been on GoD forever.

Man, the Gears 2 frame rate suffers quite a bit under back compat :-(

I still have my 360 hooked up for now so I tried Gears 2 back to back and it absolutely runs smoother on it.

There's an update for Gears 2 on Xbox One to address frame rate.

I popped in the Dreamcast Collection disc and it installed Crazy Taxi onto my Xbox One.

Hopefully they add Space Channel 5 tho ;)

Have to admit, my experience with Gears Of War 2 has been great. Short of some rare minor drops now and again (never lasting long), its pretty much identical to the 360. The only time you get guaranteed drops are during the checkpoints.

Same with Gears 3!

would be nice if sega agreed to all their XBLA titles, I have that disc so maybe I should get around to playing crazy taxi again.

I didn't think much of Backwards compatibility, I was impressed they put the effort in but after using it the last few weeks on and off it has been so amazingly done.

As the list grows I will definitely use it, as its great being able to swap from Fallout 4 to Doom, or from Forza Horizon 2 to Gears of War 3.

Can I ask, I have Oblivion and the expansion both on discs, if they become compatible, will I need the disc each time I play?

Realized I hadn't downloaded Dungeon Siege 3 yet. It won't let me select Paypal as a valid payment option.

The fact that you even need a payment option is ridiculous in itself, but now I can't select the one payment option I actually use. Xbox Support was useless on Twitter as well.

Started playing AC2 and boy does that game look rough by now. Just compared to AC3 which was the last AC I played on last gen but it's still great. Now I'm hoping for Brotherhood with my beloved Crossbow

I've played Nuts & Bolts, Kameo, and PDZ and they are all playable but with slightly lower framerates than on the 360. Especially Nuts & Bolts can get rough in Showdown Town. I hope they continue to improve the experience because it is very nearly there, but it's definitely already a nice thing to have regardless.
