I'd be all over this, but my 360/X1/xbox.com inbox seems to have emptied itself of every message, including my invite, I received in the last 6 months.
 
How does this work? Is the emulator running the game at a higher framerate or resolution than the original 360 version?

they all run natively. no streaming nonsense. i've tried several games so far and they all run perfectly. there's going to be an issue here or there no doubt but so far this is great.

I'm kind of glad they didn't because now the updated console with the larger drive and bugfixed gamepad are available, so anyone who considers BC a feature killer enough to adopt the XB1 now that hasn't already can benefit from this.

I happen to be among them. I haven't bought an XB1 yet but I just might soon.

Is there any image quality improvements? Up scaling or smoothing?

Also curious to know whether if its improves frame rate. Especially in games that had terrible tearing or FPS drops.

The Xbox One has a pretty good scaler and that's about it, some games like VP look great and some others can look alright.
 
If XBO scaler > 360 scaler, this could be a considerable worthy upgrade...

I remember when PS3's PS2 scaler was absolute shit, then a firmware update made them look better than ever before. It can go a very long way.

Has anyone got Nuts 'n Bolts working yet? It's on the list but I put my disc in and it says it's not available yet.

The only other games in the list I have are the older BK games and the Perfect Dark port, and they all run fine.

Sorry I gotta comment, good software engineers aren't exclusive to Microsoft.
As a company yes, both are masters in their own departments, but that doesn't stop MS or Sony hiring people or already having people who are just as good or better then each others.
it's what they do with them that matters, and remember Sony did file a patent for a emulatior with trophy support ages ago, so a software engineer came up with that and Sony has done nothing with it.

cool. pretty crazy an xbone can emulate a 360 where a PC is still only just about getting there with the Wii.

og xbox emulation on 360 applied 4x MSAA on games. Those VP shots look pretty smooth, wondering if they are doing some enhancement like that here again.

It supports screens, Game DVR (video), Twitch broadcasting, App snapping, App swapping and suspend (power off and power back on to same portion of game).

I tried it with Mass Effect earlier, it's very very cool.
 
So I get that the games are basically being emulated, but do they only run at their original resolutions/fps? Or does the BC also up those as well?

Here's a photo of Mass Effect running on my Xbox One. You can swap between apps and snap apps with no effect to the game, you can jump straight back in.

I think it tried to add us as friends on 360 too, not sure what the difference is but I don't even own a 360 lol
 
I really like this, and it seems like they did a good job with it, unlike the 360's original xbox BC. This is probably what will make me get an xbox one, maybe later this year depending on what titles they have as BC.

My 360 can't last forever, and I'm going to need a way to play RDR down the road.
