EXACTLY WHAT WE'RE SAYING.
All he did was pull up the dashboard. He didn't access any of those services.
Hence, it wasn't multitasking.

I wonder if they will have any themes on launch day.
I think the joke is that Windows 8 also removed the Start Button.
"There is no start button" in the context of discussing a Metro UI.
Must have been just me. ;-P
Yeah they wont take it down, besides there are other videos that show more

In that video, they boot up the entire thing from the box, devkit settings and everything
I actually quite like Bing. I think some of the ways it displays info have influenced Google positively.

The irony. At least it is back in Windows 8.1
Ryse started in a cutscene, which ran fine when bringing up the dash around it. When the game switched to actual gameplay, there weren't enough resources to run it smoothly (this is a "constrained" state per El Torro), so it stuttered. So no playing a game in the background while you browse the store! It didn't happen when he did it earlier.
I posted some better videos of the same thing a while back, somebody who is playing Zoo Tycoon at Gamescom
Why are you quoting me? I was disagreeing with someone saying that the current gen's in game guides were just as functional as what has been shown here....
Someone knows if theres any PS4 dashboard leak on the web to do a detailed comparisson?
Looks fluid (thank you 3GB) but I feel like it's missing a clear structure. The tiles are all over the places.
MS should take inspiration from the XBMC skin Xperience1080:

I think it is kinda weird that the game continues playing when he goes back to the dash. I would hope my game pauses so i don't miss anything. Kinda like the Vita does it. I still see where I left off but the doesn't run in the background. maybe there will be an option to set something like that.

While you're in the game you press the Guide button the game continues to play:
Unlike windows 8 this interface is acceptable though without a precision mouse and all that jazz. It fits the platform. This interface looks like WIndows 8 and I'm not particularly fond of Windows 8.
Would love to see more features done with the game in the background. It's very snappy right now, which is a nice surprise.
I am very curious how you snap things and do a lot of stuff that you'd normally use Kinect for.
AFAIK, the only footage of the PS4 UI that hasn't been released first hand by Sony is this video of Blacklight Retribution crashing on a devkit.Someone knows if theres any PS4 dashboard leak on the web to do a detailed comparisson?
I was hoping to see the snap feature.
What I really want from MS is a 1hr show dedicated to Dashboard usage and features. It's the piece of next gen that interests me the most and it's one they have spent no real time on.

"Leaked" by Microsoft marketing I'm sure.

why did they think thats a good idea?
so now when developers are dicks and dont have a pause feature in particular parts of a game, we cant even override that by bringing up the guide menu like we've done with the 360
a cutscene started and you need to pause?
well too bad, maybe you'll unlock it in the extras and get to rewatch it there..
Because console warsWhy would MS have a controlled leak rather than showing a rehearsed employee going through every important part of the UI with high production values and obvious praise?
Well rise was looking good in that clip. The facial animation is pretty impressive.
That just looks like the current 360 Dash to me.
