Speaking of which, has there been any more interesting hirings for any of Microsofts new studios?
It supports DTS over optical, so EVERYONE WITH A DECENT RECEIVER WILL BE FINE. Only people that have headphones that only support DD are out of luck

Just realized I have nothing to output sound for my console when I get it. In a dorm so I have no television, but I do have a monitor I've been using for my 360. Currently I have a USB speaker rigged up to my turtle beaches, but can anyone reccomed me some speakers? I'm

True true. I'm done responding to them. I'm am a little concerned about the optical out not doing 5.1. Every device i've got on optical does 5.1 lol, how in the world could Microsoft botch that? My receiver is pretty old and only has optical outlets
Says who? Why shouldn't indie games be valued as much as full retail games? They very often seem to bring interesting concepts to the table and are often crafted with a dedication AAA titles sorely lack. There's a reason games like Minecraft are as huge a phenomenon as they are.
And even then, Sony has a much better track record with AAA.
Trolling seems to be "saying something true I don't like to hear" in your world. It shows you don't have any confidence in Xbone as a product if you can't stand honest criticism.

Hey guys this might be a dumb question, however I need to know please, do I require the play&charge kit for the controller if I plan to most of the time play with the controller plugged in the usb port?
Or does the controller come with a cable where I can just plug it into the xbox one and ignore batteries?
Wireless I will only use when I have batteries laying around, thanks guys as I'm pretty excited.
I'm just doubtful on my pre-order for Forza 5, lately I've been growing more and more distant from Sim racers.(Gran Turismo 6,Forza 5)
Oh well I'll give it a try if not good, I'll just get a refund from EB games and pick up something else.

The optical DOES 5.1, it just does only DTS and no DD and if your receiver wasn't built 20 years ago it'll probably support DTS (which is better than DD anyways...)

The fact their strategy will have to change casts serious doubts on their current plans and their ability to execute said plans, and their studio expansions so far do not seem all that meaningful.
They'll produce exclusive games for sure, but looking at the 360 it doesn't seem Microsoft is even close to the level Sony or Nintendo are at.
Gotcha. And yes my receiver does do DTS.....whew lol.

I do have confidence in BOTH consoles but i was banned for 3 weeks because i made a joke and a mod made a joke back (long story but quite funny) and when you are unable to be involved in conversation and can only look from the outside, you start picking up patterns with certain posters and the the threads they start, the threads they always post in with the same kind of comments. That guy with the 'eye' avatar is the worst though and i don't get how mods don't pick up on it, one look at post history is enough.

About the Kinect, I wonder how many reviewers extensively used the voice commands for the 360 version. I never really used them at launch and shortly after that it got unplugged after a party one night and it never got plugged back in. After E3 I got excited about all things Xbox One and I remembered that the 360 could do voice commands. So I thought I would get ahead of the curve and start using them now so its not so foreign when I get an Xbox One. I found that I had no issues with commands once I recalibrated the audio. I'm sure accents probably won't work great off the bat but I'm willing to bet they get better. If the voice commands work as good as they do now I will be happy to use them. Especially if I can still burp or yawn mid-command and they register properly.

When does the party start? I think I've locked down getting Ghosts (already have it digital on 360, so that'll just be a $10 upgrade), BF4, and Dead Rising 3. Now I need to decide between Forza, Zoo Tycoon, and Ryse. Do we know when more reviews are going to break?

Seems like a bug in the system settings considering it is available for HDMI (ain't nobody gonna use old ass DD5.1 with an HDMI receiver).

That is pretty exciting. The original teaser from Black Tusk didn't look that good but I have hope they'll surprise people. CBOAT confirmed too.
I believe we get Forza today and Ryse tomorrow. Looking forward to both reviews.
Haha, you mean Nibs right? He has a long history that goes back to his days on IGN. He just came off a ban so the mods definitely know who he is. People like that will slip up eventually and the mods do a pretty good job of cleaning it up.

Yes it's one of the things that get me wondering... I commonly use kinect on the 360, and while it's far from perfect it seems to work so much better than what is shown in the worst One videos, although the testers in the same videos usually say "it's still so much better than kinect 1 !".
I know the vocabulary is much larger and more complex with Xbox One, but it seems weird to see people having so much trouble (on the other hand, we also have examples where everything seems to run fine).
I think voice commands are the first thing I'll be testing this Friday, trying to understand what exactly could disturb it or not.

To be honest, i have never 'got' console wars, i always buy both main consoles and although i do side with Xbox more because of the gamepad and exclusives (although i adore Uncharted) it means i never have understood siding with one console over the other and how obsessed people get with it (like the Amazon Sony fans who have made 100 accounts each to report the Xbox One being faulty on launch day just because the PS4 has had problems, i mean like wtf?).
I think thats why i get so annoyed with it because its so weird to me.

I use Siri in the car for text, email and directions all the time. Works for me. The again so did kinect 1.0 commands.
