Then again, it was always going to be a bear trying to convince my wife that two X1 games were an important household purchase and Dead Rising 3 by itself will surely keep me amused for a while...

The gameplay actually seems to be solid and fluid but getting boring rather quick. As I said in the review thread, consuming it in smaller sessions might be a better experience than playing it to finish within 1-2 days.

Any European Xbox guys interested in trading a Forza 5 code against a Fifa 14 one?
I'm not that much interested in soccer and would love to trade the code.

Hope to have my box tomorrow, but Amazon is not sure if it will be.

I don't think either should be unhappy. It was a very smart move to ask Crytek to change the development halfway through. The game would have had much bigger problems as a Kinect 360 game considering the constraints on graphics quality with Kinect processing requirements and how much the core audience gripes about motion control games.

Instead thanks to Crytek the Xbox One out of the gate has a graphics showpiece which proves the system can go toe to toe if not occasionally beat it's main competitor in graphics. And the game seems to be selling really well and getting lots of praise from mainstream press and some of the games press like EGM, Kotaku, and Gametrailers. Nobody seeing Ryse running on a demo kiosk in a store is going to question the graphics power of the Xbox One or mistake it for an Xbox 360 game.

Ryse is still the Xbox One launch game that I want to play more than anything else because of the unique setting and production values. I don't know how I'll feel after I play it, but considering how much I love movies like Gladiator and how much I love linear action games this is right up my alley. This series feels like it might have franchise potential to me if they build it out (possibly modeled after Assassin's Creed), but I'll see how I feel after playing through the game.

I meant more in terms of the games quality. I think if Ryse would have began production as a hardcore action game, then the gameplay would have been so much better. I agree about the rest your points though, graphics as good as what's being shown will do the system a lot of favours.

welp guys, I got my ticket and I'm 17th in line. All accessories and games had to be pre purchased, so all I have to do is walk in (after 16 other folks) and I'll be all set. So within the hour, hopefully, I'll be top of the forza/killer instinct leader-boards!

A local store here (Qatar) is already selling the xbox one and some of the launch games. Price of the console is around $950 smh

I'll be picking up my pre order tomorrow and selling it to a family friend with 2 young boys. Christmas morning for them is going to be like when I got the genesis :)

Best Buy better have my preorder! I putomey down in June.

Got at my BB 7:30am and got sixth place in line. First guys in line got here 5:30am. On PS4 launch I drove by this same BB and there was not a single soul.

Yesterday I spoke with a BB employee and he gave me the insider that they had about 40 extra units for non-pre-order, so I should be safe.

Skype is great with the XB1. So clear. The camera zooms in when you move and captures Ur face. When I lay down it zoomed out. I then played a game and it kinda balances out the game volume with the voice volume. Also, my mate said he could hear me crystal clear and couldn't hear the background game sound at all.

They said you can't skype and game at the same time.

How did you do it then?

Yet none of these compare to the lack of being able to snap Skype on the right-hand side, especially given that Microsoft touted the feature extensively. In other words, you can’t play games while being on a Skype video call.

I remember not too long ago XBOX consoles were banned for taking advantage of exchange rates, changing regions on their XBOX 360. Just be careful I don't remember the details.

I think I'm settling on Forza. I didn't get a racing game for PS4 and DR3 seems pretty forgettable. I'll pick up that and zoo tycoon on sale sometime.

Just waiting for the ass storm to hit this weekend. You know, the one where snap is broken, xbox live is in shambles and is not working, the UI locks up all the time and risks are everywhere. Does that about cover it? :p In all seriousness, I hope the launch goes as smooth as it can and people get their new console and enjoy it, I know I will. :)

Can I still play digital games bought with someone elses profile? Basically play and unlock achievements on a game bought with someone else's profile - both on the same console? Its not gonna be a patch for family sharing at a later date like everything else is right?

and also If i bought digital dlc with it in the future using my own profile that would work too even though the original game was bought on another profile?

Again this would all be done on the same console for both profiles. Basically will be sharing it with another family member.

I'm torn between these two as well.

My launch lineup was looking to be Ryse, DR3, and Forza but I'm cutting Ryse loose.

Would opt for a FPS, but torn between BF4 and Ghosts.

Without a doubt choose bf4...there will be server teething issues but it is a great series and a great game
