I'm torn between these two as well.

My launch lineup was looking to be Ryse, DR3, and Forza but I'm cutting Ryse loose.

Would opt for a FPS, but torn between BF4 and Ghosts.

I am keeping my Ryse order. I don't need every game I play to have scores high enough to appease some forum board kids e-peen.

Sometimes after work I just want to hack shit up ... but sometimes I want to just blow shot up. Thus the FPS question!

I have no allegiance to any system, or game. That's why I can bounce between the two. I was leaning towards BF4 but the servers and game seem to be having issues from what I hear?

Hey gaffy, I'm home and the console is updating. Speed is super-fast (just the same as regular xbl), but just remember, its midnight here in .au.

Oh ..... and it's glorious!

hah, funny enough, after reading some of the reviews I decided to pick it up last minute. Launch games can offer kinds of fun that games later in the gen just can't thanks to the excitement of everything.

I hear you. I enjoyed what I played of Ryse at my local Xbox Tour, but I can't justify $60 on that 6 hour campaign.

I don't think either should be unhappy. It was a very smart move to ask Crytek to change the development halfway through. The game would have had much bigger problems as a Kinect 360 game considering the constraints on graphics quality with Kinect processing requirements and how much the core audience gripes about motion control games.

Instead thanks to Crytek the Xbox One out of the gate has a graphics showpiece which proves the system can go toe to toe if not occasionally beat it's main competitor in graphics. And the game seems to be selling really well and getting lots of praise from mainstream press and some of the games press like EGM, Kotaku, and Gametrailers. Nobody seeing Ryse running on a demo kiosk in a store is going to question the graphics power of the Xbox One or mistake it for an Xbox 360 game.

Ryse is still the Xbox One launch game that I want to play more than anything else because of the unique setting and production values. I don't know how I'll feel after I play it, but considering how much I love movies like Gladiator and how much I love linear action games this is right up my alley. This series feels like it might have franchise potential to me if they build it out (possibly modeled after Assassin's Creed), but I'll see how I feel after playing through the game.

Exactly! If they make a sequel, it will probably claim best sequel ever, even more so than Uncharted 2 and RDR =p. I am really hoping for a second game.

Is it because you didn't like it that much or that $10 per hour is not worth it?
I just don't see much replay value in it. I enjoyed what I played, I'm just let down by the length of the story.

It makes more sense to me to just RedBox Ryse and run through it in one sitting.

They have been saying it is more along the lines of 10 hours. But some people have more dispensable income than others, so I can understand that.

Launch games on any system are usually sink holes. I think out of everything, KI has the most chance of any game on any system to have the best legs.

I think the length of Ryse is more dependent on the difficulty level. Game is probably a lot more fun if you play it on harder difficulties too. I just wish I could TRY it.

I'm still a little salty that we're not getting any free games in NA.

Damn you Europe. Damn you to hell.

I'll gladly trade the free game for the juicy deals you'll be getting around Black Friday. I made the mistake or preordering Day One editions for both Ryse and DR3 and believe me you don't want to pay 69euros a pop for any game ever!

Redbox is definitely getting next Gen games? I haven't seen any ps4 games in the redboxes in my area. I'd love to see some ps4 and xb1 games in it, but have they actually said they will have them?

There's no Black Friday deals on next gen stuff. Nothing is discounted but it's being advertised ad in stock. It sucks.

I'll ring up some local stores to find some walk-in stock tomorrow. Considering you could still get launch day pre-orders here in Australia, someone should have some.

just picked up my second controller and play n charge kits.

still another 15 hours until launch here ;_;. Hopefully Microsoft doesn't make me sit in line and I can just play KI while I wait.

Amazon: Shipping soon. Ordered yesterday.

How's your Hypemeter guys?

I'm a little sad with the no so good reviews about Ryse

I figured Ryse would come in as it did as I've had that feeling for awhile. Never was day one for me, but I still might give it go sometime.

*I need a hug*
Eh, I expected Ryse to get murdered by reviewers. Was hoping to be surprised, but this is why I only preordered Forza. The other games were more iffy. As it stands, I'll be okay with Forza, DR3, and Killer Instinct on launch day.

I am psyched. I don't get this crap about reviews. Everyone is so crossed up about this shit. Play the game and who cares what others say. Look at Knack. Got shit ass bad reviews but people who have it love it. That's all that matters. Hell, I don't care what people "here" say, but I enjoyed Kingdoms of Amalur and it was well worth the money I paid for it.

I just don't know what I will be downloading first after updating! KI, Forza, DR3. golf?! I have Ryse on disk as a backup incase XBL goes down, so I will be playing that while games download.

The question is how to setup my download queue! Hrmmmm

If your ISP is halfway decent, go for KI or Golf. You'll download those quick.
