As someone without a pre-order, just drove by Best Buy over lunch. No line yet, not sure if they even have any extra.

Not interested in an Xbox One so far, but very interested to see what you guys think. This is the first time in my lifetime I am not picking up a console at launch so keep those impressions coming guys and enjoy the heck out of your system tonight.

My thoughts on the Xbox so far.
Way too long to get into a game from the first cold boot, it was probably an hour before I was playing something.
The UI/OS is fast and responsive, everything is almost instantaneous. But we already knew that, my only issue has been a little bit of slow down when I was viewing my notifications while playing Ryse.
The voice commands and Kinect both seem forced and tacked on. Some times kinect can't hear me despite an almost perfectly quiet room. Also by the time and responds you could probably have already used the controller for whatever it is. Voice commands seem like a half baked idea which might not have been ready yet, obviously it was pushed as a major plus for kinect to justify the price rise.
The controller is great, my only two issues are that the d-pad sometimes doesn't register a move and that the rumble makes a really strange noise when it vibrates. It's actually quite loud and pretty annoying.
I only have Dead Rising 3 and Ryse, can't really give an informed opinion as I've played 30 mins of each. But Ryse does look bad. Also was getting some random messages about not owning the rights to dead rising which meant I wasn't allowed to install the game. Took me probably 15 tries to get it to install without the message popping up, very strange.
So far I think it's a solid system and I'm very impressed with the hardware and OS/UI. The software on the other hand is very average, Ryse might be returned tomorrow.

With my xbone due to arrive tomorrow, is there anything I need from my old 360? Seeing as the console isn't b/c, I can't think of anything. I plan to wipe it and give it to my nephew, but want to make sure there's nothing I need first.

Thanks for your impressions. Just curious, how do you return an opened game?
That update takes awhile(folks have said it's just sits there with a blank screen for awhile) but I thought u said it worked plugged straight into the outlet. How did that go to broken.
If you get mugged, just throw the box at them. It's a beast. It may kill them.

It just stopped outputting a picture.
It stays turned on now though. Xbox support site says not to plug the console into a surge protector, but now I'm not really sure if that was the problem in the first place.
Since it seems to be the thing to do (look at the Gamestop one), should this be it's own thread? Which will get hacked apart by fanboys?

naaaah, it played with the pad on demo pods....
and dudes told us that you could steer with the pad and also make sharper turns by body posture.
Stinkles, we need you to pull us a favor and pull some strings or whatever needs pulling to make pad work here
