Tech is moving forward very quickly, I think its possible we could see new consoles in 2018/9 depending on what the market is like. PCs probably going to be seriously outstripping them at that point and mobile devices catching up even more. Consoles have a specific amount of life left in them, going more service based in the future... we'll see.

Is it weird my most anticipated game is NBA2k14? Yeah i'm weird. I'm looking forward to Ryse, DR3, KI, Lego, and Forza too but 2K14 has me hype.

Yeah but surely tech was moving faster in the last 8 years faster than the prior gens? Yet we've just had one of the longest ever. I don't think gens are dictated by tech so much anymore. These consoles feel more 'futureproof' than anything before.

These console launches are becoming increasingly painful for the platform holders. They'll prolong this generation as long as they can, until sales have dwindled to the point they have no other choice.

It's interesting, as the Xbox One is less powerful than my gaming PC (which is a year old, and isn't that much more expensive than the XB1) (and yes, I'm getting an XB1).

When Xbox 360 launched, it played Oblivion better than on the best PC rigs. Seriously - check out the Gamespot review of Oblivion on the 360, they even mention how amazing the graphics are and PC gamers will have to just suck it.

So, this generation is underpowered. In 8 years PCs will be on 4K gaming and that jazz. Hell, in 4 years that will be happening.

So it might be like the original Xbox generation - big launch, doesn't stick.

That isn't weird, it looks amazing!
If I knew anything about the NBA anymore(haven't followed it in a decade or more) I'd probably buy it as my sports game for sure. It crushes the other sports games at the moment.

Got mine finally!

One question though, If my account is from the USA but I live in France, should I use english language and select USA as country or that could could bring problems?

Well, you'd hear no complaints from me (actually maybe if it was 4 years ..) 6 years is perfect though. This gen went on 2 years too long.

I'm going to setup mine with French locale at first, get it setup properly and then switch to some English locale to hopefully get my games with the original V.A

I agree. Although we got Grand Theft Auto 5, Skyrim and The Last of Us squeezed out of the same hardware.... And 70 million units shipped, so those budgets became affordable. So it's not all bad.

My XBone is in transit. Had to pay an extra $19 for one day shipping from Amazon but fuck it, wasn't gonna wait 10 days for it to arrive. I wish I had Prime but I don't make enough purchases to justify getting it.

Yeah I did the same thing but if i change it to english, Would the FIFA 14 code and the other codes that come with the console work?

Also what about the marketplace? Can I buy a Gold card anywhere here and exchange it using Usa as a country?

I know that gift cards in € won't work on the Usa market place and I guess that I wont be able to use Usa specifics apps.

I'm excited for you guys getting the XB1 today and tomorrow. I want to play around with the tech it seems really cool. Then proceed to play some Killer Instinct.

Ubisoft has said on record that they hope this generation is short, and that all future cycles do not drag on like the last one. I think most publishers share that sentiment.

Loving my ps4 but I want to just get a Xbone now since I know I'll get it in the future, no point in waiting long. I guess I'll have to wait for Amazon to get it instock to avoid taxes and use my prime =\

Interesting, the Manager at my local Target confirmed that their D1E games had the regular covers just with a small "Day One Edition" graphic on the top. Here's hoping it is in fact the back cover.
