Edit: Funny thing, when I was in line to finalize pre-orders, I said the game I was most excited for was Killer Instinct, and everyone asked when it was coming out. Good thing I informed them about the pricing schemes and free demo.

You need to leave the console in standby mode I think.
Also, I just saw some bs on CAG that amazon is downgrading some day one editions to standard but crediting them $50. That really sucks.

Someone at Polygon, I believe, was having that problem as well. Nothing I can recommend besides making sure that you have the power setting set to go into standby rather than off when you power down.
I would gladly take the $50.
Wow, I guess some units have that, last I heard it was pretty silent from what some say.

Just finished listening to the IGN Unlocked podcast. Was very interesting. They said XB1 version of Assassin's Creed 4 looks on par with the PS4 - no difference (sounds the same for NFS Rivals and NBA 2K14 which are all 1080p). Good to hear there is no discrepancy in those multiplatform games. They said Assassin's Creed impressions should be up on Friday and BF4 review up on Friday.
Ryan also said that if he had reviewed Ryse it would've been a high 7 or low 8 and that he really loved the story and got into it towards the end. Apparently there are some significant spoilers and twists. A bunch of them also said having beaten both that Ryse is definitely a much more interesting game than Killzone Shadowfall (so Kotaku is not alone); but they joked about being called biased for saying that.

Probably not an oversight after all...you can have up to 1k friends now. Do you really want your xbox to be telling you everytime someone logs on after the launch of say bf5 or gta6?

Guys I'm fairly new to the XBOX eco-system, can some give me a step by step guide on how to access the US store when it launches for you guys in America?
I have currently on my XBOX ONE:
Region: Australia
2x Accounts(Gamertags)
1 is Australian hotmail account with xbox live.
The other is American outlook with xbox live.
I tried signing in as the American account, it let me...however the store still only lists the Australian prices.
Unless this is what I think it is and I have to switch regions on the XBOX ONE settings, then restart console as instructed and then I sign into an American account and then I have access to the US store...if so that is very tedious.
Is this as seamless as PS3/PS4 as far as different region accounts go?

I got a couple launch games on disc just because I didn't want to have to download them all the first day with everyone else. I will go digital after this. I don't want to have to swap discs. I want to say XBOX - WHATEVER GAME and be playing it.

Ya'll got me...dangit. Chugged over to Gamestop at 3:30 and waited in line until 6 (Dead Rising 3 and a One). They only had 3 extras for walk ins. Love the fact I only had to wait a couple hours then come home...Eat...Nap...Back to pick it up at midnight. All stores should do it like this.
I think MS will make a load of changes as they roll on. Seeing the friends notice thing come up a lot in discussions (for both consoles). I'm sure down the line they'll let you set custom notices on a per friend basis or even set up groups. Lots of refinements in store. I'm excited
