No, actually I am not getting one. Maybe next fall. Just wishing you guys good luck and good fun.
There are plenty of ways to do it, such as this one.
I was able to use a CD jewel case on my old setup like so:
The case just needs something to stop it on the back of the TV. You might also want to superglue the hinges.
He got the console really early, and showed pretty much all of it. Then his console got banned, and MS got shit for it.

it's the plastic gears in the drive mechanism slipping.
That wasn't known at the time, but they reached out to him pretty quickly to make it up to him.

Please please (you're my only hope GAF, google has failed me) someone answer the following:
Can you turn off "one guide" to essentially turn the TV app into a pass through i.e. I'll control my cable box through my harmony remote control, but I can still multi-task xbox one features and snap.
If I get a yes, I'll buy one today. I have run out of hdmi slots so if I can do a passthrough for cable, then I'm good (I know the surround issues but that's temporary until they fix)

Yes I believe so. Since you can say Xbox Watch TV and it will go to the TV signal.. You then don't have to launch the guide to view TV you can just change the channels on your own.

It most likely will. All systems have growing pains, they usually show themselves pretty quickly. Doubt it's going to be some rare issue where like after 3 years all data is deleted due to some quirk or some shit
Every video I've seen has the one guide overlay on top of it with xbox watch X commands. I want to turn that overlay off.

Who knows, maybe one of these games is another Pool of Radiance.
Other than the update taking forever, did the Wii U have hardware issues?

I believe this is the case yes. You would just never called the guide via the command, but you can easily ask it to switch to a game when you're done watching.
Because you called it an xbone, which is the same as M$ from back in the day. It's not a term of endearment around these parts that's for sure.
That's totally doable. It's not overriding anything in your cable box. Rather, it's just blasting IR signals via Kinect to the cable box (emulating your remote control). And One Guide shouldn't come up unless you ask for it or use a voice command to change channels.

Which you can turn off? I don't want it blasting IR controls, my harmony remote will do that (and it couldn't blast IR as my cable box is in my entertainment stand).

went to the newly opened microsoft store and played killer instinct and forza
controller felt amazing, no issues with the bumpers, Killer Instinct was great fun. Not a huge sim racing fan but forza was fun and impulse triggers seemed like a good addition
