Xbox One Launch Thread [Thread being archived 1/1/14]

Only getting one game on disc at the midnight launch at Gamestop (just so I have something to play when I pick it up at midnight, well that and DR3 will not be released on the store in Germany) and will put all the other games like NFS Rivals, AC4, Ryse, Crimson Dragon and FIFA in the download queue. Forza 5 Limited should be in the mail Friday morning.
Might also download NBA 2K14, if only because it looks so awesome. Truly next-gen. Gives me that same feeling that I had when I first played Fight Night Round 3 on the 360. That was some jaw-dropping stuff.
Exciting times though. Only downer is that I have tickets for Frightened Rabbit on Friday. I love them so much but it will be hard for me to get away from my Xbox.

Is that an app or game?
KI3 is only going to be 3 GB, something you can download fast and play while the others download so you don't have to worry about discs.
It would be funny if it loaded a splash screen or something and failed.
Both in a way, the game part is that you can gain score by your performance and compete with friends.

Sure will obviously give that a try and download the free demo for Kinect Sports too. Not really interested in fighter games much though.
With the exception of limited editions and games that will not be available in Germany (like Dead Rising 3), I will not be buying discs anymore and go digital only.
Some people won't be happy about this.
I feel ya, I'm going digital only too but just wanted to tell you that they are some quicker alternatives if you didn't want to buy any discs.

Neat. My wife is very excited about the TV and Kinect stuff. I had to get her permission to set up the Xbox in my den for the first few weeks rather than our living room since I'll be playing games so much. haha
If you have Firefox I highly recommend IMTranslator, you can highlight a piece of text and have a bunch of different translators translate it on the fly.

That controller really looks solid and high quality up close. I love the new d-pad as well. It's amazing how much the system overall has grown on me.

There will be a pre-season available, which is the jet ski/wave race event. Which is bloody awesome by the way, everyone needs to check it out.

It matters a great deal. Depending on which hand you have the ball in, you'll either get shutdown defensively with no clear path to create a shot, or you'll have no room to setup a play depending on where you are on the court. Ball in right hand, driving towards the right side, quickly bring it behind the back to your left hand, and then spin on your opponent with a step back crossover putting ball back in your right hand, and then pulling up with the space you created for yourself. All kinds of possibilities.

Conker more than anything. Maybe they can get Chris Seavor back. Conker really could work great as a mascot for the system. The reason Live and Reloaded didn't take off is because it was released too close to the 360 launch.
I also want a rerelease of the N64 game for X1, I should've bought one on ebay years back when they were in the 30 range, now Conker's BFD is going in the 70-80 range on ebay.
I want that ported N64-360 Goldeneye to come out one day, but I know it what happen.

Is Xbox One able to control volume through an AV receiver? I've only seen setup for TV and cable box control so far.

Agreed. I think the UI and integration of different services are going to be outright amazing.
