Xbox360 insides

I thought it was going to be hermetically sealed with military-grade super glue that destroys the motherboard if you attempt to open it

:lol I missed the memo on that one.

360'll be modded in a month of release.

does anyone know why the back USB ports are labeled PIX and DVD EMU? does the xbox360 requiere the remote to play DVD movies like the XBOX did?

I don't think it does. On another note, when and if the 360 can be modded, i think alot of people will get all the features that are lacking without the 360 now and a whole lot more when the time comes.

those aren't usb ports O.o (edit: ohhhh maybe they are)

but those are on the hard drive cradle, which makes it possible that more hardware contributes to the size.

They have the "old" beta kits from last month. Devs just received the final kits so I guess the old ones are not used anymore at all.

ok.. but can anyone just buy a devkit, it would seem in MS's best interest to keep such stuff outta the hands of modchip makers?

And a month after the launch all the suckers buying the "premium" pack will cry because it`s now been modded and you can use any harddrive you want instead. :lol

Who`s the retard now? ;)

Isn't the HDD connector propietary?
Maybe we should wait until someone decides to open the HDD case.

I think he probably means connecting an external via one of the USB ports.

In any event I'd imagine you'd need a legit HDD to connect to XBL as you'd always run the risk of getting banned with a foreign HDD.

Yeah, good luck getting it to work with Live at the same time.

Retard Pack assemble!

Who cares about Live? That certainly didn`t seem to stop people from modding their Xboxes thats for sure.

I've seen demo's where MS guys have connected ipods to the 360 and used it as memory. Not sure if you can save games on it but it should be doable.

Nope, the extreme J Allard said in the Q&A recently that USBs are read-only in terms of mass storage connection.

Otherwise I would have connected my 100GB miniature FA Porche design HDD via USB.

Whats that above the ethernet port?

and I hope they don't stick with those dumb USB connectors on the consumer unit

My modded XBox works on Live fine.

Here's a hint: modchip switch + stealth HDD install :D

sure, but you think MS haven't been paying attention? Watch how they tie your motherboard to your HDD to your retina scan to check if you have a modded kit - even turned off.

Nice to finally see a good view of the optical output. And the controller-headset connector is kind of bulky, but at least the volume/mute control is there, not hanging off the cord like the PS2 headset.

How am I going 5.1 audio? Are the xbox 1 opical cables going to work on this?

there is very obviously an optical port on the component cable hookup... pic #5

the USB port on the back is for the wireless kit iirc... dont know what else it can be set to do though.

Having an easily modded console might make a nice increase in power point numbers for China and what have you, but I don't see why it would be a big interest for MS not to have a little 'harder edge' take on intellectual property protection (or whatever that phrase is)

Piracy is simply a royal pain in the ass for companies selling a product at a loss, and then the customer not buying anything else. Which is why i'm confused, unless MS does simply not care where the beta kits go?

I think it is slightly smaller if anything plus it is positioned in a much better place where the wire shouldn't intrude at all.

question...with those innards being labeled taiwan how the fuck would MS or anyone else for that matter expect there NOT be be mod chips and such not so soon after launch? WTF? lets manufacture our consoles deep in the hotbeds of piracy!!! :lol

these shots are from a final kit. wireless controllers just came out with final.

USB 2.0 connection

Those are USB 2.0 plugs for debugging. PIX is the XNA program to profile performance in the game, while the other is for emulating DVD drive with bits on your computer.

Since when did the old beta kits have the free AA chip? We only saw aliased pictures the last couple of months...2 me it seems like this is the latest kit. Or did the dual core chip als have the AA chip next 2 it?
