So we can't use the GMG 25% code on this? It said it wasn't applicable but I swore someone in this thread mentioned it.
Seems only folks in North America / USA can't use vouchers on XCOM.

My gaming OCD is killing me :|
Sorry for the noob ass question, but what would mods bring to a game like XCOM?
I'm trying to take in as much as I can, because something tells me the PS3 version is going to be fucked.
Skins and gameplay changes. Maybe even total conversions.
One does not necessarily automatically exclude the other.Hopefully there'll be a map editor also. But I'm cynically pessimistic that this will be covered by 'map pack dlc'.

Hmm that GI review says the levels tend to look the same, not enough variations. It's something they could change with DLC though.
As much as I appreciate XCOMs outstanding balance and tight design, the game could benefit from more variety across the board, and not just because I saw maps repeat (albeit with different spawn locations) more often than Id like.
Awesome video! I can see myself loosing many hours in multiplayer. A lot of fun.
Also that one time when they both...just watch the video.
So I guess normal ironman for the first play and first ever xcom game. Demo was fun, but I uninstalled it just before the difficulty change option came to my attention.
ed: Preloading. The wait begins...
One does not necessarily automatically exclude the other.
So PC is superior platform, but just how superior? Is the 360 version ugly?
YAY! I'm preloading! Now to wait till Friday
So if the preload is 12GB and the full game is 20, there will be an 8GB download later?

Ok, that makes sense. I thought it was just encrypted rather than compressed.
It's painful to watch other people playing. I feel like a veteran when watching some shmuck play! I'm yelling at the screen "Use run and gun!" An observer mode would be intolerable for me!
As RAR can do, it's both encrypted and compressed.
I just watched some of it and I know exactly what part you're talking about. I just gave up because it hurts to watch someone give up a guaranteed double kill so he can run off to save a soldier that's going to bleed out before he gets there.
I'm pretty sure Civilization 5 has scenario packs but also has a map editor. It kind of does though. If there is a plethora of good, free, user made maps, who's going to buy official ones? Unless they hobble the editor so they get to use unique features or terrains.
Anybody else think that like the game NOT being released right now is stupid? The files are there... right there.. the game is ready.. what are we waiting for?
When are we going to get past these arbitrary archaic retail related timed release dates?

Wait a minute... I thought this was meant to be on XBLA?
Why? Were you thinking of the XCOM third-person shooter by a different dev team?Wait a minute... I thought this was meant to be on XBLA?

I'm surprised this thread is keeping up with the Dishonored thread, I really want this to succeed

I remember also being under the impression, way long ago way long ago when shooter XCOM was first being shown, that this XCOM was an XBLA title. Was that ever the case at some point before, or maybe a rumor that was going on at the time? Either way, it's interesting that the two games switched placed on which one is the retail release main course and the XBLA side-dish.
I'm still interested in shooter XCOM. I like the 50's gmen vs aliens setting and now we can enjoy it without the "but they gave us this instead of real X-COM" stigma.
