I recall the Japanese release getting about a whole point lower on average. Seems like a solid title in the West, just sucks this won't see the requisite sales. I'm thankful that if Bayonetta is anything to go by that Nintendo is more into the prestige business, and I hope the critical response encourages them to continue with the series regardless.

It was the most downloaded title in Japan for the month of May, largely surpassing other titles such as Minecraft, Bravely Second: End Layer, and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt.[45] As of June 2015, 110,000 physical copies had been sold.[46]
