Those character models were just hideos, calling them PS2-quality would be too good for them. I was expecing more from this game graphically after the initial trailer.

Xenoblade Chronicles was the best JRPG in years, and X is a sequel to it... truly awesome news!

Yay :D

Edit:
Seriously all the salt over the graphics... no wonder we get games like Final Fantasy XIII -.-

Was really, really looking forward to this game, but that trailer was awful. Also, pushing back to 2015? C'mooooon. Wtf is going on with all the delays? This E3 is really pissing me off.

I was hoping sooooo much that the franchise would get back to its Xenogears/Xenosaga roots, universe-wise, as I have fond memories of these games. Looks like it's... actually happening.

They went for the awesome classic RPG gameplay of the old PSX, and managed to get the PSX graphics as well

Wow, am I the only person excited for this? Xenoblade is easily my pick for best game of last gen, and I'm way more interested in this than another Zelda game.

Really interested to see how, if it all, this fits into the Xenoblade story.

I mean I guess it could be in the remade universe where the people of formerly of Bionis and Mechonis have spread out, but they mention Earth and stuff so maybe it takes place in the previous universe? But there are Nopons so... no? I don't know.

I bet there will be no salient link between the two games. The fact that they didn't come hard to the paint with this game with "XENOBLADE TWO!" makes me think it's a re-imagining of the universe which allows them to tell a new story that's not bound to Minado.

Which I think is for the best, because Xenoblade gets REAL sloppy towards the end and what everything actually is, and how it relates to the things we know.

What did BLADE stand for again?

Beyond the Logo Artificial Destiny Emancipator?

Come on Japanese developers... come on.

Takahashi as fuck.

The world will still look great. The character models will just be OK.

So basically like the first Xenoblade.

The character models are what turned me off the first game. It's disappointing that they are still so bad. They look like models created via the character creator of a grindy Korean MMO or something.
Seems okay to me. I care more about the environments.

I spot Nopon!

Has it had a downgrade? Possibly, maybe, who knows. Are the character model faces ass? Yes they are. Will it impair my excitement for this game? Unlikely.

Story trailer means this isn't going to be some MMO-like thing I was initially fearing, which is good.

You certainly aren't the only one excited. This is still my most anticipated game for the next year. I'm just so happy to see a story trailer finally. I was worried it would be light on the story which is silly considering who is making it, but still... lol.

The character models looks bad but I believe in Takahashi in terms of gameplay, story, music. This game will be good.
I hope.

Seriously, i cant stop smiling. I will now get ready to watch the trailer at least a dozen of times today. And i really dont mind the ugly chardesign, the tone of this trailer is exactly what i want from a takahashi-game. It looks a billion times more epic and ambitious than the last xb...

They showed a lot of zoomed in faces etc which didn't look nice. They didn't show anything similar to the other footage we've seen though (not-cutscene, not up-close character models).

It's a shame they didn't show any environments now, but I'm going to assume they remain as originally revealed and they wanted to show more of the story and characters with this one :)

A really poor trailer followed by a delay. The name was even confusing. At least it has a name now, and it has 'Xenoblade' in it. Less hyped now for sure though.... :(

That trailer hit all my buttons - it's definitely a Takahashi game in the Xenogears / saga mode.

Random acronyms, nonsensical dialogue (and probably an even more nonsensical plot), huge space fights and giant robots? I love it and I'm not ashamed to admit it. Pair that with the gameplay improvements they made with Xenoblade, and I'm there day one.

This is crossing too much into Gundam mech territory for my comfort (really don't care for them), and the character model looks PS2-ish?

Damn, I am so happy. This is the game I'm waiting for in E3.

The visuals are actually great. The character models are just like Xenosaga's models. Of course, just my humble opinion.

I'm just a bit sad there are no other gameplay info.

Character's facial designs were not good which is a shame because I thought the models were pretty damn good on the original. Still pumped regardless.

I spot Nopon!

MMOs like FFXIV have stuff like this.

Heropons confirmed - take all of my money. Delighted that this is a Xenoblade sequel.

However the trailer was really poor, and their inability to improve face models in any way is hugely disappointing. Looked like SD era facial modelling.

Oh well, I'm sure it'll be incredible. From what I can tell the story looks like it'll be a mess, though.

dat textures, what the hell is wrong with this game, it looks nothing like the early footage. This is just high res PS2 games.

Game looks amazing, characters look absolutely hideous. Xenoblade was the same and it was the best JRPG in a decade, too bad it's 2015 only.

While it's true the character models are kind of ass, I don't really get the people saying downgrade. What has been downgraded? It's not like they had shown awesome looking character models a year ago or something and now give us this. There is no reason to believe the environments or mechs have been downgraded.

How can people people talk about a downgrade when we never even seen the faces of these characters before now is rather silly. The game still looks the same to me.

We saw an uncut chunk of raw gameplay footage previously. Was that faked? I doubt it. That is still what the game looks like. Up till now, the biggest worry about the game people had was wether or not it would have proper characters and story. So we got a trailer dedicated to story and showing off the game's characters. This trailer just gave us a look at a different side of the game: its characters and snippets of the large-scale cutscenes. All of that giant world full of large creatures is also still part of the game.

This game is still exactly what I have been expecting, and I'm hyped for it.
