Nyeeeee I see SOME people don't remember what E32009 Monado looked like before they shipped Final Product.

The final release looks so much better.

Downgrade confirmed. ..not that I ever believed the original trailer was real anyways since there's so much you can or can't do with the Wii U Hardware.

Even the 1080p video is so compressed I have no idea how you can tell anything from it with regards to quality.

I don't know what new style you're talking about. The art hasn't changed in the slightest.

Yeah, it hasn't really changed from the initial reveal. It's pretty different from Xenoblade itself, but that was to be expected with the return of Kunihiko Tanaka. Very Xenogears/Xenosaga-ish vibe coming from it.

The art style looks the same as Xenoblade Chronicles to me but I don't think it was a very good trailer. I still think the final game will be amazing though.

To be fair those faces are nightmarish-

THAT'S "NIGHTMARISH"?
Shit, I know they have nothing on what the PS4/XBOne can do, but nightmarish?

Either way, character faces are certainly not why I play games. Furthermore, Xenoblade for the Wii was about 100 times worse, and that game is in my Top 10.

I was hoping for Tanaka's artstyle to finally be fully realized in 3D, and here the models don't even look as appealing as the one's in Xenosaga 1. I'm pretty disappointed, but it will still be a great game to be sure.

Just let me see Tanaka's official 2D art before playing the game and I will be happy I suppose :/
That will undoubtedly be top notch.

It's an upgrade from what we got in the original Xenoblade

Yeah, the faces are good enough that I'll forget all about them once the game gets going. For whatever reason, the character models are about the last thing I care about in games like this -- though I hope they drop the stupid boob physics from Xenoblade.

Actually we did

Game looks the same as it always had. There just aren't large open world panning shots in this trailer.
I meant actually in game. That shot isn't in game. Looks about the same though I guess. Regardless everything else still looks good, if the character models still look junky by the end of development then whatever.

What are people smoking? Downgraded? Seems like people just don't like the designs/style rather than technically being downgraded.

Looks significantly downgraded from previous teasers...

No, it doesn't. None of the previous trailers had zoomed-in shots of the characters or their faces. The rest is identical to how it previously looked.

Fuck me, you would think people would have learned after The Wonderful 101.

I'm not sure if people are serious or trolling me when they say that that original trailer and this trailer look identical.
the difference is we've only seen gameplay shit and now we got these ass cutscenes

and you people are telling me that thanks to these cutscenes, the actual world of XCX will look like that too?

Start worrying when we see some new gameplay footage and it looks like ass.

"Nightmarish" not as "shit has low textures/whatever" but has "she's staring into my soul".

You're focusing on the wrong things. The character models look bad, yes, but this has nothing to do with the world that they focused on in the first two trailers. Like I posted above, the character model in the first trailer looks identical to the ones in this trailer.

Like Xenoblade, expect the character models to be bad but the world to look great.

FACT SHEET

No mention of online multiplayer. :(

The next massive sci-fi role-playing game from Monolith Soft, the
creators of Baten Kaitos and Xenoblade Chronicles, comes
exclusively to Wii U. A terrible intergalactic war leaves just a handful
of Earth survivors trying to live in a beautiful yet hostile environment.
Players engage in battles against powerful creatures of all forms
and sizes using the deep battle system that builds on the triumphs
of Xenoblade Chronicles for Wii.

FEATURES:

• Riding and controlling a weaponized mech, players can explore
every inch of the massive open world displayed in gorgeous
high-definition graphics. The world is filled with strange and
imaginative creatures, from small bugs to giant dinosaurs.

• As characters improve in different classes, they will learn new
combat and defensive skills, or Arts. Players can customize the
Arts palette as their characters learn new Arts. All Arts have a
“recast” time – once cast, the player must wait out a “cooldown”
period before that Art can be used again.

• Players can customize everything about the main character’s
appearance, including gender, shapes, height, skin color, voice
and tattoos.

Updated the OP with the Fact Sheet. It confirms a fully customizable player character. A first for Takahashi's games.

That's a unique concept. I'm curious to see where they go with that. I'm also glad because I'm usually indifferent to Takahashi's lead protagonists and care more for the supporting cast.
