Xenoblade X (Cross) releasing in 2015 (Xenoblade Chronicles X in the US)

Been increasingly interested in this title since I saw the game play trailer last year. The new story trailer looks equally awesome and the features in the OP makes it even better. Definitely my most looked forward to title on the Wii U console.

I was hoping it would release this year, but I guess I will have time to play all the previous Xeno- games now.

Well Xenoblade's character models were awful too, even for a Wii game. This is an improvement. I'm not expecting much to change to be honest.
 
Complete customizable characters? Not surprised.

The faces do indeed look quite bad, personally don't care and will be picking this up anyway but still wish they were better.

True, but I gave it a pass for being a Wii game. I was expecting a bit more from this.

I'll still end up buying it because I loved Xenoblade, but I'm just disappointed with how bad the characters look.

Wow, I've never seen such a massive downgrade in graphics from Nintendo before. Still not sold on this game, but there is a lot of time between now and release.
 
Xenoblade also looked pretty bad when you weren't in one of the big open areas. I'm pretty sure the field graphics will look the same as in previous trailers - after the first game, I wasn't expecting cutscenes to look amazing. I'm fine with the graphics in this trailer.

The faces aren't quite at PS2 level - they look significantly better than the Xenosaga shot posted earlier IMO. I would have preferred they stuck to the style used in the Xenoblade official art, but I can still live with this.

Trailer didn't do much for me, was kind of hoping for a new take on that RPG concept instead of a sequel to Xenoblade Chronicles. Story setup seemed generic, textures and faces are a significant step below what's been shown over the past few days. Lots of faith in that studio, hopefully there's some long form gameplay at the show.

This is as big a hyperbole as anyone's comment on the faces. Literally no one has said they aren't interested anymore due to the faces, just commenting on how they think they look.

I think the faces look stupid as all hell and will express my opinion, but I'm still excited for the game. Probably getting a Wii U for it after all.

maybe not, but some people are judging the entire game's graphics based on the faces
 
I'm not sure where people are seeing a downgrade. The face model are awful but they didn't change from that close-up from the first trailer. Xenoblade had terrible faces too, I'm sure the world itself will look as gorgeous as it did before.

I think the game looks amazing to me, even with the downgrade in graphics. I don't know how I feel about a customaizable main character though. Where is Shulk and friends?

You think the Shulk (?) model looks worse than the models in this trailer? I'm not sure what to tell you if you think so.

You might be focusing too much on the character's back in the first trailer...which does look fine.

They released this gameplay video back in February. Make of it what you will.

It probably takes place in the new world during Xenoblade's ending.
 
The graphics give off a very strong Xenosaga vibe, which I like. However, the name is...not so great. Anything with "Chronicles" just feels cheap. It's like "Retribution", "Rise of the", etc. The name itself, Xenoblade Chronicles X, is fairly confusing. It makes it seem like it's a remaster/repackage of the first game rather than a sequel or its own thing. Being Monolith, they could've used Xeno_____ and it'd suffice.

I'm excited, nonetheless.

I for one liked everything I saw, and with what I saw last time I really cannot wait.
 
I'm dissapointed of that trailer. I know the story will be better of what was shown

but that trailer contained almost every single sci fi anime cliche.

So not having played Xenoblade. This is a good time for me to track it down and play it?

I know I know I am a bastard for not playing it yet.

Yeah but the Wii would have been capable of way more too, it's different priorities I guess. I'm not disagreeing mind you, I just don't think there was an actual downgrade.

At least it won't be too noticeable outside of cutscenes~

I think people have gotten so obsessed with the Dark Souls/Watch_Dogs downgrade phenomenons its made them delusional.
 
I'm more upset about the stupid title than the facial graphics lol.

But seriously, why are y'all so surprised that the faces look like ass? Xenoblade was known for having terrible texture work, so this is all par for the course. The environments and gameplay should more than make up for it, if this game lives up to its predecessor.
