I'm in for a league, but it seems incredibly early.

Not too early, mind you. But early nonetheless.

I'd be in for a few leagues, and I wouldn't mind doing a draft soon (yes, not everything's decided, but smart players can buy low on sleepers that they think will prove themselves in camp) but I doubt people would stay interested in a league that starts this early.

Most likely id be in. I did my first run at fantasy football last year and came in second overall so i think i got it down. :)

With ESPN free this year (game's not open yet, but because of this big change, we can have a FREE ESPN league) and since football's not my #1 fantasy sport, I'm not shelling out money for no real reason. But yeah....I doubt there'll be any money leagues, and if there are, there will still be at least a few normal leagues.

Really? I've made leagues with less than a month to go and I've had ok times......But if you really think/know that, and if you can pinpoint a good draft time (I couldn't, this early on) by all means start a league.

But how often have they started the sign up in early June?

Hell I just had to go back and fill in all the shit for my league twice because the first two times I picked filled up before I got through the process. For me the only decent draft times are early Saturday or pretty much anytime Sunday.

Do I know for sure I wont be doing anything on the night of Sunday August 21st? Not for sure but there is good chance I wont be doing shit but recovering from a hangover. So thats the date I picked.

I cant make a league here though. Its just not a good idea.

Not good.

You drafted a D wayyyyyyyyy too early. Same with Mcnabb and I'd say Rod Smith. You were lucky to get Jones in round 3 though

Drafting a QB is never to early. I drafted McNabb in the second round last year and he pretty much brang me into second place because my whole rest of the roster went to shit/got injured around week 8. I think you did pretty good.

McNabb early? With the amount of points that he brings in, I'd definitely take him as a first rounder.

I've done two mock drafts so far, and seen a few, and I hadn't seen him go off the board until the third or fourth round. That's assuming 10-12 people are in the league.. Of course it's not that big of a mistake, since he got kevin jones.

I would say Donovan's too early as well. The only QB I'd snag in the first 3 rounds would be Peyton (second round earliest) or Daunte (but not likely). There's just too many premium skilled (RBs most importantly) I'd rather have. Chances are I can get a QB that can get close to Donovan's points even in the 5th and 6th round.

Hah. I know top pick will obviously have to be Peyton, but I assumed the rest of the top QB class would similarly follow. I will have to re-organize my draft order, in that case.

You will rue the day Fifty.

I'm not saying you should pick this way, or even that it's the best mock draft but if you haven't already, reading a mock like http://fantasysports.yahoo.com/anal...060905&prov=yhoo&type=lgns&league=fantasy/nfl

is a good way to make sure you're not behind the pack when it comes to over(under)rating players. I've found for the most part people will follow the consensus rankings (not the shitty yahoo rankings mind you) so this gives you a better view on how people are valuing guys at this point in time.

Hey maybe we should do a side league where everyone just has players from their NFL team :lol

I've seen leagues like those listed, and I thought they were stupid, they might still be, but it sounds kinda fun.

Basically you'd start 3 WRs, 2 RBs, 1 QB and a TE, K, D from your favorite NFL team, and it operates as a normal fantasy league. You'd be able to have whoever you wanted from your NFL team on your bench (maybe 6 bench spots) and if a trade were to happen in the offseason (since it's early) you could add that player to your team

:D I know it's probably a dumb idea, but if people want to do it just for fun, on the side, then I'd be up for doing the hard work (assigning everyone their players via an offline draft) We'd only need about 8-10 minimum since you're using

Hah, I'd actually not mind doing this at all. Granted, I'd have to kick a few people in the crotch so I could get to the Steelers, but that's just added fun.

Of course, figuring out which two running backs to start wouldn't be much easier than if I'd picked four guys from random teams. Will it be Duce and Bettis? How about Willie Williams? Verron Haynes and Verron Haynes v. 2 (Noah Herron) could sneak in there. Just not fair!

I really, really like Kurt Warner at back up QB this season. Good pickup.

Yup, I have Kurt actually playing the whole season with the Cards unless he gets injured. Behind a good O-line with recievers like Anquan Boldin and Larry Fitzgerald Kurt can carry the cards into the playoffs.

Haha, we should do a side league like that. Hell, I did that in one of my other leagues last year (of course, because the Bucs offense sucked ass for half the season I got KILLED! :lol )

Glad to hear people think it's a cool enough idea. I'm creating the league now and I'll be sending invites. whoever has called a team now has them. Hopefully we'll have 10-12

I assume you just take a forfeit the week of your bye? Granted, that could be a bit unfair when a team runs into another team with a bye week and gets a T instead of an L. I doubt anybody's going to be taking seriously enough to mind though.

41. D. Bennett
60. D. Driver
61. J. Witten
80. J. Arrington
81. M. Robinson
100. A. Randle El
101. F. Taylor
120. B. Roethlisberger
121. J. Carney
140. Indianapolis
141. Kansas City

Yes, I thought about that. One idea is to make it a points league that way everyone's bye will balance out.

goddamit, Griese!
i'm totally in for that side league. should be interesting to see how the bears offense is this year :lol
