I actually love the series more than anything. But right now, it's a prime example of what too much success and popularity can do to you. It's simply ridiculous to see the horrific methods RGG Studios uses to make money.

Start with any version of Yakuza 0, then play the Kiwami games and you'll already be in a good position to pick from the rest.

The PS2 originals are definitely worth revisiting with the Restored patches. Some of the atmosphere of those games was lost in Kiwami.

So I love the Yakuza games, but I'm a late fan - my first foray into the series was Zero, and since I've played every game available on PS4/5, including the spinoffs. Zero remains my favorite.

I already got the 100% completion of the regular version and I have no desire to ever go through that again.

Having said that, offering no upgrade path for hardcore fans is greedy AF. You're better off looking up the new content on YouTube.

Love Yakuza. Brilliant series. Happy Kiwami 3 is happening, cause fuck the original block fest game

But, Sega can shove this port right up there arse. A PS3/PS4 game with a few new cutscenes will not be worth what they ask for. It is a greatest hits game on PS4. £15 quid.
