Wait, really? I beat her at Golden Ball and it didn't unlock anything.

Thanks! Jeez 76 hours in now and I'm only 60-65% of the way through. But the side shit is so much fun. Fuck.Like 60-65% through the story.

Man, same here. That's how it grabbed me, everything just seems so fluid. And the writing has me hooked, so even if I don't think a substory is interesting, I'll do it anyway. My first Yakuza, and I think I'm inlove. I like how small and compact my open world town feels. Everywhere feels immediately identifiable because of it's size restraint. All the places, npcs, and side-quests are easily accessible, I love it!
I also really like how it plays. Kinda blurs the line between linear and nonlinear. I don't feel like I'm checking off objectives and shit. Everything just feels like it plays out organically. Even the random brawls feel unique each time.
I don't know if it's it's arcade-like nature with all it's flashing lights and explosive over-the-top combat. But this game feels like a solid side scrolling beat em up in a narrative focused open world game.
I'm only on the second chapter and have only played it for a few days, so I'm still struggling to write down WHY I like the game so much. But I do!
Edit:
And side quests that actually have some meat to them. Even when a quest I find is nothing more then a fight, they're at least interesting (mostly funny) to listen to.
Holy shit you have so much money, I completed the S rank and decided to all of the side quests and as many completion list things as I could. This game is amazing.I'm ~150hrs in, up to chapter 10 or 11 (out of) and am at around 45% of game completion.17?
But I have almost all S in the real estate minigame, though. And I have about 40 billion banked

And the combat reminds me of Die Hard Arcade so much, I think that's a factor too.
It's not that hard There's some equipment you can wear that brings the Mr. Shakedown return to 120%. So if you get to a billion (which you should be collecting each cycle of the real estate minigame) you let yourself get robbed, load up your zap gun and health, do that a few times then defeat shakedown for a tidy return And I usually find that after I collect from RE, get robbed, defeat him, I have another billion to collect.Holy shit you have so much money, I completed the S rank and decided to all of the side quests and as many completion list things as I could. I'm sure others have completely maxed out the amount of money you can get, too. I think it's 999bn.
Catfight is completely random.I just got to the catfight stuff an don't get how it works. Just more random chance like casino games and other stuff. Theres gotta be a more surefire thing to get big bucks in this game?

For reals? Why make a big show of inserting this catfight thing into the main story then? Ditto for the real estate stuff for that matter. Part of the jank issue I'm having with the game is how they're pushing silly side stuff into the main story. Really stuck out with the breakdance thing in Majima's story to.Catfight is completely random.
If you wanna make money then invest into Kiryu's real estate activity. That'll eventually net you close to 3 billions in every 5-6 minutes or so.

btw I have tried the real estate thing and re-read the manual multiple times but still don't get some of it. Is there a good guide out there for how to do it? Or even saying what the manager/security icons/numbers mean?
So it'll take another 350 hours for 100%. The game that keeps on giving. >.<
Absolutely. Once I have some decent bank (I think I can consider that checked off now) and S the last building in the real estate shenanigans, I'll blast through the rest of the game. Majima's mini game really doesn't interest me in the slightest, TBH.Nah, I've 100%ed it at 120 or so hours. Guess it just depends on what you focus your time on?

I just spent a lot of time piss-farting around, taking the sights in and doing side quests. And getting into every fight possible because I love the combat so much.
Can someone tell me how many hours I have to go to the end of the game? I only get 2 hours every night and want to make sure I can get through it all.
I'm on chapter 14 and just teamed up with Nishiki.

You still got likehours left.5-6
The ending is a big blowout that lasts aroundhours so be prepared.3
Ah LOL I thought I was close.
Shit thats a long ass time that I have to make time for... hmm...
Thanks!
There's also a post credits scene so remember that. Bring tissues.
With Kiryu you have the avarice shirt that returns 120% and a skill that returns 50% combine them and you get 180% of the money you lose. The max money you can hold is 9.999..tn yen. You can collect that pretty fast and then give the rest to Majima. It's not that hard There's some equipment you can wear that brings the Mr. Shakedown return to 120%. It doesn't tell you but you will see new videos on the sexy video clubs. Also, if you run into Mr. Libido he will give you tips on which characters can give you more. Majima's Mr. Libido will also give you the ability to buy the best recovery item in the game if you max out his friendship. (full health, full heat 40k yen)Wait, really? I beat her at Golden Ball and it didn't unlock anything.
You need to win I think 3 pool matches to unlock the golden ball mode.
In order to win golden ball, you need to be the one who pots the golden ball and the one who wins. If you do both, you get the video. If you pot the golden ball and lose, or don't pot the ball and win then you just get the money back which you paid to play.
If you quit midway through a match then it doesn't count.
Yeah I got my pocket tissues! Thanks.
What is up with all the people handing out pocket tissues? Is this a thing in Japan?

Yeah, I know. I just didn't get an unlock message when I beat her at Golden Ball like I did with other video unlocks.
More than anything, I just loved the justification he gave himself to agree to buy it for him.Now I'm off to buy some porn for a kid.
Thanks! I'ma stick it to the Leisure King now! Kazuma's desperately in need of the money since his upgrades seem ta cost more than Majima's and he also seems to make way less through battles.super helpful strats!
I like how the kids name went from "Innocent Boy" to "Sophisticated Boy" after recieving the magMore than anything, I just loved the justification he gave himself to agree to buy it for him.
If you want to do that friendship quickly try doing the underground vendor quest (near the empty lot). Once that's done you get a pretty good security guard and the vendor also sells dodgy fish you can give to the Gin chef.Where do I buy bait in Kamurocho? Sushi Gin guy wants fish.

Heres a nice screenshot I took and am now using as my PS4s background! Such intensity for picking up a phone!
A billion sounds crazy high compared to how much I have now! The games making a big deal about having lotsa money before moving on with the plot, but a billion? Dunno about challenging Shakedown right now but the fish tip certainly helps! If you want to do that friendship quickly try doing the underground vendor quest (near the empty lot). Also for money with Kiryu try to make about 1bn, from there use the avarice shirt and the mr shakedown deep pockets perk from the shrine and farm mr shakedown having him take your cash and beating him to multiply it. To make beating them easy with Kiryu try buying some energy drinks and a few super spicy knives. Dodge his attacks and spam heat nives with the knife. He goes down pretty quick.

My guess would be 12 hours. Though I may be off.So I played the game constantly when it first came out, and kinda fell off it. I was wondering how much longer it'd take to beat the game if I mostly mainlined the story? Last cutscene I saw was (spoilers for I think chapter 7 or 8?)Majima being shown pictures of a body double for the blind lady

Yeah, you are like half-ish through. My guess is that you probably have about 12-15 hours to go.help i can't stop listening to this OST

Game is long AF but worth it.
Never really had money issues. Try and invest in yourself like the game tells you. Later missions give you 300m for completion.A billion sounds crazy high compared to how much I have now! Please tell me thats on NG+ cause having that much money is ridiculous, nevermind for being only on chapter 5!Hi there!
Yes! Everything must be done full force with passion!I love how everything the characters do is approached with the same "100% effort" attitude. Saving a friend? Fighting yakuzas? Playing Out Run? Picking up a phone? same. It's hilarious.
Only on Chapter 6 an the moneys not exactly rollin' in! Can only invest in so many upgrades before ya hit those nasty 30 million blocks... and the ones beyond those are just x.x; Just gonna figure I'm as upgraded as I should be at this point an move on.Never really had money issues.
