What a masterpiece... and it was the game that somehow finally got the series to catch on in the West. I'm not sure if this or Judgment is my favorite overall, but Y0 is an absolutely great game and I'd really like to revisit it.

Just replayed the series in preparation for Pirates. Such a great series. So glad it's getting bigger in the west now.

Thought not my favourite in the series, it really is quite good.

Might not be the best, but I credit 0 as the game that popularized the franchise in the West like no previous games had, leading to now us getting day and date games where before it could be anywhere from a few months to years.

The best thing to come out of Gamepass was getting me to try Yakuza 0 and totally falling in love with the series. Top tier franchise for me now. Insta backlog and they're still pumping like 2 a year it feels like.

Same. I've only played 0 but what I time I had with it. Will eventually find time for Kiwami and then maybe get to Like a Dragon.

I'll let you in on a little something. The yakuza game, it's not like boxing. The man who gets beat down isn't the loser. The guy who can't tough it out to the end, he's the one who loses. Eh? Don't you think? In the yakuza life, there are no KO's. I'll tell you what, Kiryu. To me, a finger or two don't mean shit. Having Awano or Shibusawa beat me to the captain's spot? Couldn't give a f***... As long as I'm alive, I'll keep getting back up for more. Which is why you, a half-ass like you, is the the one thing I can't stand. Now DIE, you little shit!
Kuze

Most hype, absolute cinema scene in all of vidya. And that music, oh god. If you didn't get the shivers, you don't have a soul.

Personally I like it best of the series and I started with PS2 version of Yakuza 1 with that English dub. And I imported 3, 4 and 5. Still like Yakuza 0 the best as it just has a great story and amazing side activities.

I do have a soft spot with PS2 version of Yakuza 2.

great story (& great girl friend)...

Great game. I played it back in 2018, thanks to GAF. It was my introduction to the series, and I loved it.

I went on to play many of the others, and I'm happy that I have 6 or 7 games still left to play. I'm going through Pirate Yakuza at the moment. I want to replay Zero eventually. Such a weird, fun game.

The only Yakuza I played, had a great time with it.

EDIT: Actually I also played Kiwami 1 just after 0, but I didn't enjoy it as much.

Was my entry point like many others. Have played every LAD/Yakuza game since including all the spin offs. Magnificent game and series. Ryu Ga Gotoku Studios can do no wrong in my eyes

I fully suggest playing 1 before 0, for anyone reading this. That's the order I played the games in, and I was very glad that I did. 0 works way better as a flashback when you know what happened after.

10 years??

NANI?!

I know what you mean.

The dissonance comes from the fact that we didn't get a localized version until 2 years after the original release (so our 10th anniversary is technically 2027), thankfully we don't have to wait these days.

This man knows his games. He's basically the first Twitch streamer I check out whenever a highly anticipated game drops

And he isn't the type of gamer to rush through new content, which I appreciate if you want to truly get a feel for the game he's playing

The first Yakuza game I ever played.

I've since played every Yakuza/spinoff ever released in the west for PS4/PS5. Zero regrets.

0 is the first game in the series that I played. Finished it during a covid lock down. Amazing experience, but l don't feel the need to play any others.

My appreciation goes out to the Yakuza fans here at GAF. They were the ones who got me to try something outside the norm, something I figured I wouldn't like (I'd never enjoyed brawlers). All the fun they were evidently having finally persuaded me to check it out. I'm glad I did. Yakuza has provided hundreds of hours of entertainment.

I also appreciate the Yakuza fanbase. With fans of other games, you will sometimes see elitism, defensiveness, or petty squabbles. I don't notice that in Yakuza threads. It's always just people having a good time.

I've played and completed: 3, 4, 5, 6, Like A Dragon 1 + 2 and Gaiden, but never played 0.

I've also been itching for another mainline Yakuza game after Infinite Wealth, so I may just have to play this.

Unfortunately he rush stuff a lot, dude doesn't have the time to play everything slow because of the nature of his job.

He is one of the few good ones but has some stinker opinions sometimes and i feel like he has very low standards, dude likes 98% of what he play...
