Pimpmeister general Mr. Hiroshi Yamauchi has announced his plans to retire from a management position at Nintendo. He will keep his consultation role, but all his other responsibilities are going.

The date for the change is 29th June.

i believe iwata has said Mr Yamauchi has stayed out of this, and Yamauchi himself said all decisions are now out of his hands and he has full faith in what they are doing at Nintendo.

Just read that there was an article today saying that DS can be played by people from 5 to 75 years old. Yamauchi is 77 so he probably felt the need to resign after reading the article

Also, Iwata is planning to start putting DS in non-game shops. He's looking into putting them in pet stores first, not to directly sell to customers, but to expose the DS to more people.
