Is there any purpose for the pirate treasure collectibles? They don't even appear in the totals apparently.
Not at the moment. Inept's Toybox secret is also currently a mystery.

I found that quill in W1 because it was the first place I looked when the world opened up. I always expect there to be collectibles in last-place-you-look spots![]()
I especially love how insensitive and unfiltered Laylee is.
I liked this as well, although I remember Kazooie being more mean, and actually having back and forth arguments with NPCs (like Bottles and King Jingaling), while in this game the NPCs pretty much ignore her, like she is only thinking what she's saying or something.
There were characters in Kazooie/Tooie that hated Kazooie because of how rude she was (and would give sass right back to her). In this game, there isn't really the same sort of relationship with the NPCs. Nobody seems to mind Laylee at all, they come across as kind of aloof or naive.
Also Banjo would chastise Kazooie more than Yooka does (again, it's as if she never actually says what is in her text box). I actually can't really even remember Yooka ever telling Laylee to cut it out.

On the 4th world now, I think I;ve decided I don't like the game, which really upsets me as BK is my favourite game ever and BT is up there as well. But it just didn't capture the same type of vibe and the level designs were confusing and annoying to me. Oh well, hopefully we get a sequel and they improve everything. I don't regret my purchase though, anything to support these types of games.

I dropped right into that spot and couldn't get out. I had to go back to the hub world. I probably would have stopped playing if I had lost progress, but luckily the game saves after picking up a collectible.I'll be the first to admit this game can use some good amount of polish, but I have experienced the exact bug that you posted in dozens of games, especially those where constantly jumping into things is invited.
So apparently there's a bug in Capital Cashino that prevents you from getting the Pagie from Kartos and it happened to me. If you get hit by the fire after you cross through the finish ring (after the game is out of your control) you can get your total knocked back down below 150 even though you finished above 150. I finished with 153 and immediately after finishing was hit by fire which changed the on screen counter to 148. Kartos still gave me a pagie and I faced the boss as standard but I never actually got the pagie off him added to my total. For fuck sake.
I have everything else done in this world except that one bugged pagie, too.
Did this happen to anyone else?
It happened to me this weekend and crushed my spirit (had just cleared the first 3 worlds trying to 100% the game). Ended up restarting my save and rushing to World 4 to make sure I could get all 25 pagies there this time. Now going back to clean up those first 3 worlds again. So apparently there's a bug in Capital Cashino that prevents you from getting the Pagie from Kartos and it happened to me. Well said the characters simply feel like NPC's rather then personalities that inhabit the world, there is no snap back or conversation on that witty level.

Speaking of issues with the game, whenever I go back to the area outside of the entrance to Hivory Towers on PS4, the framerate drops to like 1 FPS. Does that happen to anyone else?
Use the flying ability and scan the rocks.I'm 6 quills away from 100% world 1, this is driving me insane, they could be anywhere
I'm quite enjoying the game so far, but after losing part of my progress for the second time (related to AMD graphic card problem) I'm inclined to wait for a patch
the one thing that I find quite frustrating is that there's no checkpoint system in place or teleporters (as far as I can tell). Having to walk from the start point and climb the same mountain again x times in a row because you accidentaly fell down somehwere is super annoying. What sort of helps is going into an interior to reset the start point to a new location, but it's a stupid fix
and how exactly does the interaction between rolling and jumping work? On the way to the first boss a wooden pole blocks the ramp, I managed to jump on it once but always drop down on my subsequent tries. And there's a page that requires you to jump over multiple ramps, but once you jump you can't go back to rolling and slide down the ramps
Yep. They shouldn't call it easy though. Call it normal and make the current difficulty hard, so people get a better feeling of accomplishment.
There's no checkpoints or teleporters because the maps become a lot easier to get around later on. As for rolling and jumping, you can do both at the same time. Just keep holding the trigger while you jump. You can also jump higher if you stop/slow down while rolling.
Jusy hit world 4 and still in love with this game. It just clicks with me and I've had none of the issues people have mentioned (PS4 Pro with boost mode on). It's so fun to get lost in worlds like this again. I have no complaints.
Except Bee Bop. Fuck Bee Bop. I actually really liked the first 2 arcade games (I know some hate Kartos Karting but I found it fun and didn't have any issue beating the high score) but Bee Bop is a crime against humanity.
if you have the tonic that alerts you to when "rare items" are nearby, equip that and start going around every area. It'll start playing a whistle sound that gets louder as you get closer anytime youre in range to the missing quillsI'm 6 quills away from 100% world 1, this is driving me insane, they could be anywhere

was a real life saver for me when i got down to 1-2 left on a map
That's so interesting, Bee Bop was the easiest for me. Make sure you're using all of the commands. On the Xbox controller, A increases altitude and X slams the bee down. Just bop corplets in a line with X like you would jump on Goombas in Mario or bop multiples at once if they overlap. Watch for when the fire appears and when it does look for other, safer corplets then come back. Just avoid the water and it's pretty easy to beat.
I have no idea why I had so much trouble but I kept running out of stamina and missing jumps. I did finally beat the high score though!
There are quite a few bugs that straight up prevent you from getting all the pagies. Playtonic needs to address them quickly.
Likely possibilities: charge attack the toilets, on the rocky ridge of the island with a crane that required boat powerSomehow missing 9 quills in the 5th world. Got everything else. Anyone got any tips on where sneaky ones could be? Pretty sure they must be together.

The one in world 4? I haven't completed that one yet (3 pagies, haha). What should I do to not stumble across that bug?
If you're referring to the one I mention earlier today, try to finish the course with 155 tokens or more (not easy) or time your finish so that you're far away from the next fire obstacle when you cross the finish ring.
