You ever miss being well and truly bored?

It’s been a long time since I was really bored. And by that I mean having nothing to do, no projects or phone calls to return, nothing weighing on you or looming in your mind. Just sitting there on a lazy Sunday afternoon with an empty expanse before you, vaguely wondering what the next day would bring.

With kids and a career, I can’t remember the last time I truly had nothing to do and I miss it.

you?

I think it's good for kids to be bored. A huge percentage of my childhood was spent being bored. I would get tired of all my video games, toys, movies, books, etc., nothing good would be on TV, and there would be no neighbors or friends around to play with. Just stuck in my room "existing" for hours at a time during days that seemed to last for an eternity.

Makes me wonder how often kids experience that level of boredom now given the fact that most have tablets and high-speed internet access.

I'm well and truly bored 7 hours a day at work, but that's a whole different feeling which comes with an added side of anxiety and irritation.

Not really. I try to do things that keep me interested. Sometimes when I get bored at night I just go to bed. If I am watching a show and I get bored, I move on.

I have actually been making my self bored on purpose lately. Crazy, I know.

I read something about you being at your most creative/motivated when bored, so I wanted to transport that feeling and use it as energy to drive me to do more things. I routinely block myself from the internet now, and certain sites. It has legitimately forced me to do chores and other productive tasks out of boredom.
