You know what else? When the bad guy phones the good guy and the good guy answers and then has a conversation. Why don't they answer, realise its the bad guy, and just tell him to fuck off before hanging up?

And when you get some pushy cunt that the main character has no romantic interest in but hassles them no end until some kind Stockholm syndrome kicks in.

The downmix on surround does that. It annoys me to no end, since I use the surround sound system that Mother Nature gave me: my ears. If you have the ability in your "device", turn up the center channel.

Mate, I feckin hate this.

Was watching Altered Carbon on Netflix and I could barely discern any of the dialogue.

Alternatively, perhaps I am just an old bastard now and can't listen well
👴

Focus on the foot she's sticking out, if it's going counter-clockwise for you right now, then when that leg moves right, tell yourself that it's moving BEHIND her other leg rather than in front

Once you've registered both you can flip on a whim

I've never really noticed that in a theatre, but some blurays that I own have insanely bad audio mixes, exactly this problem, action scenes are deafening and then you can't even hear most conversations spoken at a normal volume.

Doesn't work for me. Maybe I'm just too smart to be fooled. :-)

I got you

Oh wtf. I dont like that. Like if I look at the pic on the left the middle lady spins with that and if look at the pic on the right she spins with that. Still if look at what Tessy posted it's clearly counter clockwise.

Me rn:

Optical illusions piss me off. Is it a rabbit or a duck?! Its it a young woman or an old lady?! Fuck you, go back to art school

If you are only in stereo you need to set the audio off 5.1 and on to stereo. Same for anything on Amazon Video.

Yo know what sucks? Blu rays only having one option for sound these days... Who the fuck has 7:1 in every room in the house?

Dynamic range (difference in volume) is a little lower if you turn off Dolby 5.1 and just set it to stereo or whatever the other option is.

Yep, it sucks.
Some movies you have to watch with the remote in hand to increase the volume to hear the dialog and then lower it when there's some action so you don't wake up everyone in the house (and the neighbors...and their neighbors).

Movies need some setting for the 90% of people that just use the TV speakers.

You're supposed to have a $3,000 sound system on every device you watch TV and movies on. That's why they mix it that way, because they know that 99.99% of all people are in that situation and you are the weirdo.

It's grating. I have to throw subtitles on everything or wear a headset that gets sweaty after 15 min (dem action scenes are intense)

Use the Xbox mostly, if it's doing it, I am still missing dialogue.

Try going into your audio settings and make sure movie playback output is set to Bitstream. A properly downmixed 7.1 track shouldn't affect the dialogue (Center channel)

Thought this was gonna be about how the bad guy always makes a speech when he could easily just kill the good guy or girl.

Nope. I cant. Counter clockwise only. Maybe my brain broke 😅
Look at the ankle of the leg that isn't turning and imagine it spinning in the other direction.

I look at the hand and think "it's going anti-clockwise"

I look at the ankle and think "spin Clockwise"

Then i look at the hand again and it is
