Your Favorite PSP Game?

Tough call for me. I mean GTA is fuckin GTA on a handheld, very smooth. However, when it comes to pure value, Wipeout Pure is just nuts. Plus the best racer on the PSP.

However, i think I had the most fun ad hoc and single player with Hot Shots Golf so far, which is pretty fuckin badass.

Lumines and GTA. I am going to buy some new games later today but I can't decide which.

Legend of Heroes-- I love RPGs so I am probably getting this. Already playing DQ8 and Wild Arms Alter Code F.

SOCOM-- it's supposedly fantastic, but I don't have a headset. Can I use like my XBL headset?

Prince of Persia-- any good? I loved Sands of Time.

Tokobot-- looks charming.

I've honestly played the hell out of every game I've owned. Some are great for quick doses, others blew me away with lengthy one player modes. For pick up and play, the favorites so far are Virtua Tennis, Hot Shots, and Burnout. For a more lenghty experience, definitely MG Acid and GTA.

Lumines - Current Addiction

Hot Shots Golf Open Tee - Long Time Friend

Wipeout Pure - Keeps on giving oh yeah! Fuck RR

Darkstalkers - Wireless is flawless, I love capcom!

GTA LCS - Multiplayer is fun, and all the missions are fresh and new. Had to get used to the controls but now im a natural.

Burnout Legends - Unlocking my last car series, very hard to do. I must suck!

Is MG Acid good? I see it cheap used and I tip toe around getting it.

Hot Shots Golf I'd say. Very, very addicitive, easy to pick up and play, lots of fun.
Lumines is great too, but I don't find myself with enough time to get involved in the game long enough to beat my records anymore.

Ridge Racer. Lots of great tracks, looks beautiful, plays well.. fucking nitro boosts and dumbed down sliding are enough to make sure its not nearly the best in the series but it's still the most fun I've had on the machine.

Hot Shots Golf and Tales of Eternia are the runner ups.

I thought GTA would be, but it's such a step back from SA that it's hard for me to appreciate that the "GTA on a handheld" angle, mostly because I only play it from my couch, I guess. I hate dying in water so much.

Guess I'ma give it to Ridge Racer at the moment, though the difficulty is taking its time ramping up.

Lumines. I bought Twisted Metal, traded it in after like a week after launch, got Lumines played it for about two weeks and...Have yet to play a game outside of the SOCOM: Fireteam Bravo beta on it since. I do plan on getting Liberty City Stories soon though.

I guess right now it'd be close but I'd have to be Hot Shots Golf. I just chipped in an Eagle the other day and nearly peed my pants

Hot Shots: Open Tee.

Followed by Ridge Racers, Wipeout Pure, and Lumines, in that order.

Getting Burnout for Xmas, looks hot.

If you like strat-rpg's without all the fuss of leveling up, and aren't expecting a story that has anything to do with the Solid series, Acid is quite a fun play through. Long cut-scenes, typos, weird as hell story set within the Metal Gear universe, nice graphics = a probable PSP cult hit, IMO of course.

Lumines and GTA (_o_cheat device -> Heli's in LC FTW!) for now and always.
Socom, Field Commander and Tales of Eternia early next year.
Loco Roco, E3, GTA PSP 2, Monster Kingdom.. Whenever they release.

FROM WHAT I PLAYED:

-Socom: Fire Team Bravo (With Mic):

-Tenchu: Shinobi Taizen

-Hot Shots Golf

-Ridge Racers

-Guilty Gear XX #Reload

-GTA: LCS:

-X-Men Legends 2

Socom is easily one of the most amazing though, because yelling "I'm shooting that Son Of Bitch, but the fucker won't die", or "Blow That Fucking Shit Up AnusOfYourLove01, and make your team proud" in public... is priceless.

Matix: GGXX Reload PSP and Tenchu are both great? I had worries about Tenchu, and GGXX is it still good? I played the xbox version near religiously.

I like all of the PSP games I currently own. So I'll just mention them and say something about them...

Lumines: Quick fun. Very stylish and fun. Perfect for those short bursts!

[GTA:LCS Portable GTA. What more can you say? It takes place on my favorite GTA city and the humor is downright great.

Midnight Club 3 The MC series are my favorite racing series ever so having a full blown MC game on PSP is awesome. Loadtimes are a setback though...

SSX The last snowboarding game I played was 1080 on N64 so I think this one was a great game to return to the skiing genre. Its quite fast and IMO a nice portable experience.

Metal Gear Acid Involves a lot of strategy but I really like it. Its meant for long sessions though...

I'll buy The Sims 2 next. I reallyt like the Sims franchise.

BTW anyone has Prince of Persia PSP immpressions? I have yet to hear a thing on the game...

Burnout Legends - Fantastic, if a bit easier than the console versions of Burnout.
Virtua Tennis - I had forgotten how great the DC/arcade game was.
Hot Shots Golf - A perfect adaption of the PSX/PS2 games.

So far the original content for the PSP isn't wowing me.

Bebpo is the only one who had so much hate for Tenchu. It rocks. And GGXX #Reload is a perfect port with responsive control and fast load times.

Lumines. Whooo fuck yeah. Flashing lights and great music FTW.

Second favorite: GTA LCS. It still amazes me how this game was put on a handheld without making it suck.

GTA: LCS by far. Followed by Ridge Racer. If Kingdom of Paradise continues as it starts it'll get the thrid place with Hot Shots Golf.

++ On that one, it's supposedly allready shipped to the us according to IGN. So if anybody's picked it up, I'd love to hear an impression/short review. (no spoilers please)

IMO, yes. Guilty Gear XX #Reload is just a direct port of the console versions, but its easily the damn best fighting game I've played on any handheld device. Everything that’s incredible about the GG series, is put in a pocket classic. If ya ever wanted a handheld Guilty Gear title (or just an excellent 2D Fighter), than this is it.

Now Tenchu: ST on the other hand, I recommend to the Old-School/Hardcore Tenchu fans. The game is not as flashy, and technically enhanced as the recent console versions. Still, if you had a true love for the pioneer Tenchu titles (1, 2, & Shinobi-Gaisen), or if you cherished the games for their true attentions (Authentic Ninja Stealth Gameplay), than you'll probably want to import Shinobi Taizen.

The games offers an insane amount of content for a Tenchu game, especially on a handheld. 30+ Characters, 5 Unique Story Arcs, Various Multi-Player, and a Mission/Level Editor thats beyond belief. Now its has some shitty issues (Draw Distance, Bland Level Textures, Glitchy Stealth Camera at times), although the overall positive out-ways the obvious negatives Truly, this is a game for the Tenchu Fans.. and that’s why I love so much (maybe you will too).

When is tenchu and ggxx out here?

Hmm, well according to EBWorld Guilty Gear Judgement 2/1/06, but I'm not sure if these are the same games (since it was a GG-PSP game with a Beat'em Up mode/feature slated). Now at this point, the lazy SOBs have yet to license/localized Tenchu:ST for a US release. So.. yea..

The waiting game...as in waiting for good games (lolamirite? iamsorite)

I would say that Lumines is still my favorite PSP game followed by Ridge Racer. Lately the releases have started to pick up, but Lumines is just so blasted incredible it's like experiencing Tetris for the first time all over again.

I'll go with Bebpo this time...Tenchu is a wrong name for the game, it should be called Zatoichi.

Right now it's Tokobot. Some good platforming action and puzzle-solving to be found here. In many ways, it reminds me of Ape Escape. Probably because of its light humor and bright aesthetic design, plus the use of "tools" and "gadgets" (in this case Tokobots) in navigating the levels.

Tokobot needs more love!

Ack, no way! If it was that bad, there's no way I would have played through the entire game and unlocked everything. :)

There's been several good import-only PSP games these last few months. GGXX #Reload, Princess Crown, and Gundam Battle Tactics are out now. Plus for recent Japanese titles not yet released in the States you've got Monster Hunter Portable, Armored Core Formula Front International, Metal Gear Ac!d 2, and next week is Irregular Hunter X. January is Street Fighter Zero 3 Double Upper. Once that's out, GGXX goes into retirement. :D

WipeoutPure. I think it's one of the best handheld games I've ever owned.

GTA:LCS and SOCOM are amazing transitions to handheld. Love 'em.

XMen II is my favorite port. Hated it on console, addicted to it on PSP.

I loved GTA, Lumines, and Untold Legends, but the game I've spent the most time with is Hot Shots Golf. Great game. Hope they add online play next time around.

I may pick up Kingdom of Paradise later today. Hope it joines my favorite PSP game list. I also need to get SOCOM and the headset.

Lumines and Namco Museum Battle Collection.

I am eagerly awaiting Loco Roco and Me and My Katamari. I just like the weird different games. And both those are as different as you can get.

Ridge Racer is a close third for me. I'm just very disappointed with Mercury and Ape Escape. Both those really bugged me. Both got too hard too fast.

GTA... i don't like racers and I played Lumines till I got sick of it, so GTA is now the only PSP game I own... lots coming out in '06 that looks interesting tho... Prince of Persia looks interesting (a bug-free version of WarriorWithin?)... anyone tried it so far?

I don't understand, what would make you like it more on PSP?

I'm not sure, honestly. The game is a really long dungeon crawler with a crapload of powers to level and extras to collect. It's total X-Men fan service. But for some reason, sitting in front of the tv with it was never that great. Carrying it around and doing some leveling however has been extremely gratifying. And it's packed with even more content and missions on PSP, so it's like this never ending quest to collect powers and loot that are done pretty well. I guess the setting or genre were just right for the PSP and me.

I hardly play my PSP anymore with all the great games I have on the DS. However, out of all the games I have played on the PSP, I probably have played MGA and Lumines the most.
