01) Wind Waker
Superb animation. Excellent camera and controls. And as always, great bossfights.
02) Fable
The most fun I've had in 20 hours of any RPG I've ever played. The second playthrough was only natural (once good, once evil), making this a 40 hour RPG for most. The most immersive and enjoyable RPG since Shadowrun on the SNES.
03) Grand Theft Auto III
When you're in a New York state of mind, nothing else comes close.
04) Eternal Darkness
One of the best new franchises to come out of this generation. Totally cinematic and completely atmospheric. There's a lot of detail in this game, if you're looking for it.
05) Metal Gear Solid: The Twin Snakes
The best of both worlds. A must-own, if only for the cut-scenes.
06) Soulcalibur II
The first 3D fighter I've actually enjoyed. Playable Link didn't hurt, either.
07) Def Jam Vendetta
AKI's classic wrestling engine was put to good use in this urban fighter. The only things missing were CAW and a more versatile career mode.
08) Metroid Prime
I didn't 'get' this game at first, but it was also my first Metroid adventure. The later levels are somewhat unbalanced, but otherwise brilliant. I'm all about the boss fights.
09) Hitman 2/Contracts (TIED)
I'm starting to think Hitman is indeed the king of all stealth franchises. It just seems that the games offer more freedom and variety than their competitors.
10) Counter-Strike
What can be said about CS? There's at least 5000 active servers open at any given moment. It's popular for a reason.
Anticipated
(To be honest I'm not really looking forward to many titles in particular, so there are quite a few fillers in here)
01) The Legend of Zelda (GC)
Could give Fable and Wind Waker a run for their money.
02) Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas (Xbox)
Not confirmed for Xbox, but there's a good chance. Looking forward to a completely streamed GTA with no cross-town loadtimes, and a nice rampy countryside to drive on.
03) Resident Evil 4 (GC)
Intriguing to say the least. There's a lot of scepticism surrounding this title, but anything is an improvement from RE0.
04) The Godfather (?)
Marlon Brando voices Don Corleone one last time. I'm not sure what team is working on this game, but I hope to god they don't screw it up. It would be nice if the story began in Corleone when Vito was a child escaping from the local Don.
05) Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
If only to see the story unfold.
06) Metroid Prime 2 (GC)
More of the same is a good thing in this case.
07) Killer 7 (GC)
This game could be complete crap, we may never know. :lol
08) Mother III (GBA)
The long awaited third installment of this quirky RPG satire of American culture.
09) Lobo (?)
Kemco has the license on this one. A shame they apparently don't know how to make a game. I'd love to see this license in the proper hands. It had better be M rated to suit the comics.
10) Scarface (?)
The glutton for punishment that I am, I'm actually looking forward to seeing what can be done with this license, regardless of who is behind the wheel.
