Wow, I completely missed the second cross platform. Thanks! I really appreciate it.

I have a kind of odd question...is there a way to remove the NO FALL (F1): ON/OFF display in the upper right corner of the screen? It seems like unnecessary clutter for it to be showing all the time since the option doesn't really do much in this game.

Yup. This is probably the worst boss I've had the displeasure of fighting. It is not fun at all, which is saying something, since all the bosses before it were good. At least I enjoy the boss music... I guess I'll just gain another level.
Also, I hope OiF goes on sale during the summer so I can buy it for someone else to enjoy. Maybe even an Ys Double Pack for $20 or something.
EDIT: Okay, I think I was just really underleveled. I easily gained three more levels after saying "fuck it" to grind. Made the boss much better. It was even fun now.
Any reports to how these games sold on Steam? Successful venture for X-SEED and Falcom?
I've read that XSEED apparently said they were happy with Oath's sales at one point, but I never saw that myself. Don't know if they've said anything else or not, regarding either game.
Yeah, this game went crazy with extras. In addition to unlocking the third playable character, you also unlock Time Attack and Boss Rush modes after beating the game once, then Arena Mode (survival challenges against huge hordes of monsters, basically) after beating the game once with each character.
From Arena Mode, then, you can unlock "EX" versions of each character (which play very differently), as well as two different versions of Adol (Napishtim and Felghana) for use in Arena Mode, Time Attack and Boss Rush.
And then there's also an alternate schoolgirl outfit for Yunica, too.

So what should we be looking forward to next after Origins? There is that new Ys game for the Vita that would look pretty slick on Steam.
We'll get the stuff already done for PC before we ever get Falcom picking the PC platform back up. There's a ton of great stuff yet released over here, though, so I'm not trippin'.

My guess is something like this:I'm completely okay with that. I guess TitS would be the next thing to come.

My guess is something like this:
Napishtim > TitS: FC > Xanadu Next > TitS: SC > Ys I & II > Dinosaur Resurrection > TitS: The 3rd > Gurumin.
I think that covers all their modern PC work up until the PSP and Kiseki took over.
My guess is something like this: "Sorry, Ys Origin didn't sell 9 million copies, END OF THE LINE"
"Xseed announces first million seller!"Steam summer sale needs to do wonders!

Also Ys Origin got overshadowed at launch by the outstanding Humble Bundle and then E3 hit.
That and no one else has reviewed it.
It also went head to head with Max Payne 3 and a bunch of other stuff when it came out. It actually charted pretty well given what it was up against, I think; it's worth remembering that Recettear basically never went substantially above 4th place in our release week , and we still had an excellent first month. It all comes down to what's competing with what in any given week.
So I'd venture to guess that Origin did at least as well as Oath did, although the total lack of "big" reviews is baffling. Tom, I assume you guys sent out review copies to all the usual suspects, yeah?
RPGamer reviewed Ys Origin (Review), but as Tom said, we think the rest may perhaps be paralyzed by rapturous joy?
This is so corny it made me smile. We will not be IGNored! We'll get ourselves a good GameSpot on some site, because we're GamePros over here, and we know how important it is to have reviews posted G4 it's too late.

Also Tom you are so gonna get punched.
Really wish I was still freelancing for 1up so I could just go ahead and review this. I want to spread the good news of Ys across the land. Alas, all I could do was tweet the game to death on Twitter.
Finally played a bit of this game. About 3 hours in (12F), and I'm really enjoying this. Already like it more than OiF and it's creeping up to be my favorite Ys. Looking back I can't believe I only played three hours, so much already happened in the game.
The fight against that centipede (forgot the name) was great. It took me a few times, but I loved every minute of it. I finished it off perfectly with 1 HP left.
I don't mind the the tower, it's actually a good thing, since it gets rid of the overworld that connects the dungeons. So far(!) I think Origin has better pacing, a more interesting story, better boss fights and I even like the music more.I'm not digging it as much as Felghana, so far. Not to say that I'm not enjoying it a ton, but the whole thing being set in a tower really does take away more luster than I thought it would.
